LB Colton-Goeas Commits!!

Dooley said at one point in time, that he wanted kids to visit before they committed, so they knew they made the right decision. This has Juda Parker written on it honestly, and Vol fans should be suspect about this commitment, especially seeing he's that far away, and we were his best offer to date, and the only one from the SEC.

Oregon is a very good offer. I'd say they have been quite a bit better than us lately. And UCLA is a good offer as well.

I used to enjoy your posts but you've gotten ridiculous man and now you're making up stuff to complain about.

Do you actually have an evaluation on him or is this just your usual chicken little babble?

Was he at the top of the LB recruiting board in April? No. Is he a great athlete, with good offers, and someone the staff offered...yes.

A little indication on his athletic ability...

His score was 101.55, which placed him 4th at the even he was at in Hawaii. The number would have placed him as followed in the other events:

Philadelphia - 5th
Miami - 3rd
Orlando - 8th
Houston - 10th
Mobile - 2nd
Charlotte - 3rd
Atlanta - 16th
Massillon - 10th
Dallas - 15th
Long Beach - 8th
Chicago - 15th
New York - 4th
Oakland - 13th
Portland - 5th

straight copy/paste from TOS....

SPARQ rating doesn't mean he's going to translate into a good SEC football player, and it doesn't mean that he's going to be a highly sought after player either. All a SPARQ score does is measure someone's athletic ability. I bet Kenny O'Neal's SPARQ rating would have been huge, but we all know how that turned out.

Reading comprehension.....

I listed a few things to like about Goeas... his athletic ability was one of those....lol

all you want to do is complain... do you actually have an intelligent post/evaluation/arguement to add or is this all we can expect from you about Goeas?

g8terh8ter_eric, who p'd in your cereal man. SPARQ/SMARKQ. I assume you have watched his film. This kid jumps off the page at you. He is always around the ball. He is a sure tackler. He looks comfortable dropping back into pass coverage. He appears to have good lateral quickness and he gets off blocks. Sal knows linebackers and I'm rolling with his evaluation of the kid.

maybe , maybe not... his 40 was legit...

so your argument is bringing up a 5* bust... should Dooley stop recruiting 5* also?

Can you make an intelligent post for once?

Here, I have coach Sal's number. Why don't you call him up and bestow your vast talent evaluation knowledge on him. I'm sure a man in his position would value the opinion of such a distinguished expert on the matter. :eek:lol:

In the meantime, I'm going to continue to trust our staff in that they know what they are doing.

Kid is unrated, not recruited by the SEC outside of us, and we have limited number this year to take. Commitments like this one is why I believe Dooley won't succeed here. Also, people saying that an Oregon offer is a good offer, they ranked 67th in defense last year, and they aren't a good defensive offer, IMO.

So, pointing out someone who obviously was really athletic, yet it didn't translate to big time SEC football, isn't an intelligent argument to make?? It was a fair comparison to make, and there are a lot of high SPARQ score kids who don't make it in college.

I'm glad he knows LBs, but I'm not impressed with our LB recruiting, no matter how you slice it.

If your going to attempt a post of sarcasm, at least don't make yourself out to be a liar before you attempt it.

O'Neal's biggest issues were his hands (couldn't catch a cold) and grades.

Based on these facts, how does O'Neal relate to Goeas in any way?

Again, you don't have to be able to catch or have passing grades, to be athletic or have a high SPARQ score. Lots of kids are in that boat, and some are really great athletes.

You chose one bust who never even had a sparq score.... lol. you have no idea if he would have scored well...

and there are even more kids who don't have a high sparq score who won't make it in college...

And yet you have provided zero facts about O'Neal and a SPARQ score.

Only pure speculation from you that Kenny probably would have had a high SPARQ score based on his athletic ability.

O'Neal was a 5 star bust, Goeas is not.

I don't understand your comparison of these 2 players.

Hawaii might have something to do with that...Koehler's only other SEC offer is Georgia... so what again is your point?

UT ranked 116th in rushing... so is Green, Henry, Kamara, etc. not good offensive offers....?

I can do this all day... Someone help Eric out...
