I personally find it deplorable. However, I'm sure you'll find most people on here ecstatic, if it was removed.

Nonbelievers seek to take God off currency - Freedom From Religion Foundation

Thoughts?

I think the claim that having the phrase on currency is discriminatory is tenuous at best.

Their claim that every time they handle money they are "proselytizing for a deity they don't believe in" to be fairly ridiculous.

Easy fix..don't use money, move to another country where you're free from religion, or stfu. These situations will always occur and may succeed in a country that panders to every minority.

From the "that offends me standpoint", I don't care. Removing that from money isn't going to change my faith at all, nor is putting it everywhere.

such a powerful guy you'd think he could step in anytime he wants

He could any second he chose to, however he grants us the free will to either better or screw up our lives, it is our choice. He will step in one day and say it is over and call all his children home. I am glad that I am one of his children.

The farther this country strays from God the worse shape it gets in.

Flame away.

How long have we been "straying from God"? It seems to me things get better, not worse. We're wealthier than we've ever been. Freedom for everyone, not just white males. Technology makes our lives comfortable. We're more educated than in the past. Better health care. Etc.

When gramps says "worse," what he's really referring to is more premarital sex. I don't think he's really into civil rights or any of that mess.
