Sports agent Jimmy Sexton had this quote in an ESPN article today:

"It's the hardest ticket I've ever seen in sports, ever," Sexton said. "It's harder than any Super Bowl, harder than any World Series. There's just not that many people selling tickets. I've had so many of the players that I represent call and ask me to help them get tickets. I've told them, 'There just aren't any.'"

Pearl had a 20 minute press luncheon earlier this week, and the SID got requests from the Jim Rome Show, PTI, Fox Sports Radio, and ESPN Radio in that 20 minutes.

Yeah, nobody outside the state of Tennessee cares.

Also, the Florida-FSU football matchup is still really important. There's no way any network would ever pass up showing that game to show the last half of a UT game.

How can nobody care? I am a Die Hard Tennessee fan...and every other team is just another team standing in our way. But when say #1 duke, plays #5 North Carolina I plan a week in advance to watch the game, when #8 Georgetown is playing #24 Syracuse i plan to watch it. I get pumped by good college teams battling it, and especially rivalries. I think this is going to be the greatest game of my life, which i have been planning on watching since the schedules were released. If nobody else cares, shame on them because these are 2 really good teams, in a good rivalry, and it will be probably top 3 game of the year in College basketball!:clapping:

Driving home last night, JT the Brick expressed the same feelings LawGator had when a caller from Knoxville was hyping the game. The caller called it the Super Bowl of college basketball, and JT went off about no one outside of the south cares about the game Saturday. He said absolutely no one is talking about the game out west or the east coast.

Nuff said. That guy is the most ignorant, asinine, piece of New York trash to ever pollute the airwaves of sports radio. And there have been a lot of ignorant, asinine, pieces of New York trash on sports radio.

I'm from Champaign Illinois, home of Illinois Fighting Illini, and everyone of my friends is asking me about what i think about the game, and what i'm doing, etc. They all debate with me, and care a lot about the outcome. They HATE Memphis for stealing Rose from them, but they also HATE Bruce Pearl, so its been a HUGE topic of Discussion. I think a lot of people are talking about this game, the people who say they arn't, are just jealous that it isn't their own team.

In the Tennessean today, the story goes, Peyton Manning called Coach Pearl for a ticket, in turn Bruce called Coach Cal, and Cal got him a ticket.

I could care less what the national media thinks, and I could really care less what our lurking gator resident thinks.

This game is huge because its one versus two, and exponentially bigger for all the VOL and tigger fans. Biggest Tennessee basketball game ever IMO, because we can take the #1 ranking with a win. We have never had that opportunity before.

That's really all that needs to be said.

Why the media? They are hyping the crap out of this game, and giving Tennessee as much credit as we could possibly deserve.

I live in Arizona obviously, and even the "only care about basketball when I get my office pool bracket" fans are talking.

I'm just commenting on the quote that I posted. And I have also heard media not give Tennessee a chance.
