Williams, who plans to wear jersey No. 8, said he’s “very excited” about joining a Tennessee team that’s widely regarded as one of the preseason favorites to win the SEC East, and he admitted he’s already looking forward to one of the Vols’ games this season in particular — their home game Sept. 24 against Florida.

The Gators have won their past 11 meetings with Tennessee.

“I want to knock the Gators off as soon as possible,” Williams said. “I’m tired of hearing that everywhere I go. ‘Oh, it’s going to be the 12th year. It’s going to be the 12th year.’ I just want to go ahead and put an end to that. (I hear it) everywhere I go. Every time I tell somebody I’m committed to Tennessee, (they say), ‘Well, you know the Gators …’ I don’t care.

“I’m, like, 45 minutes away from (Florida’s campus), so all we hear is Gator fans. I’ve kind of built up that wall against it.”

"More than excited". I have no doubt. My daughter is the same class as Latrell and recently signed a volleyball scholly to play / study "away from home" in Atlanta. She leaves home in July. I'm not sure excited is the right word, but I guess it's as close as possible for her ... and dad.

Hard to believe that what was tiny enough to hold in a hand "just yesterday" is about to walk out for the first time ever on it's own. It's given me a different perspective on recruiting and our new players.

A shame if he doesn't get a redshirt year though.

He's a special athlete but could use a year for polish.

IMO

Happy LW is a VOL and I think he'll be a good one, however my pick for this wide receiver class is Brandon Johnson. Dude is a ball hawk and at 6'3" with an 80" wingspan and 43" vertical, he's going to be a great target.
