Latest on the buyout for Schiano??

Reports are that TN had a clause in the contract signed by Schiano that it is only actionable if the finance director and davenport at UT had signed the contract also. Only currie signed the contract. Now, do we give him some sort of shut up money to avoid a possible court battle remains to be seen.

Zero since the MOU wasn't actually signed by Davenport, but since we have the most incompetent Athletic Department in the nation, I suspect we'll settle for $3.8 million.

We could send him a goat.....what he does with that goat is his own business. Although, I do have a suggestion.

I'm really glad that he's not going to be our next head coach. That being said, I believe he deserves some sort of payment. He very well may have put other offers aside to accept our offer for quite some time now. If there something in the contract to that major I would have no problem paying it because he would deserve it.

He will not pursue a dime. To do so he knows he would be put under oath and questioned about some things he does not want to discuss. Case closed.

He should submit a list of reasonable itemized expenses he imcurred during this fiasco and we should pay it. But...

“Pay these itemized prices and pay no more!”

Wouldn't give a penny. Did he jerked around? Yes. Well, you know what? life is unfair and sucks at times. I'm been essentially promised a job before and then the #$@&%$s never called me back. Did I get compensation? NO. Did I sue? NO.

In the end, not coming really saved him an existence in a pure "pit of misery". He has no clue how bad it would be on him when he got here. Surely he asked himself when he got the call "Who? You want me to come coach at Tennessee? Wow, I'm the last person I would expect to get a call. What about all the other names thrown out?"

If Ohio State took him back, why owe him unless contract was binding?

why do you even call it a contract.

A MOU is not a contract

It simply includes the terms to write into the contract--that's all

Terms of MOU even said must be signed by others who did not sign.

Nothing here....move on

My source tells me he got a coupon for a dozen wings, extra spicy at BWW, and a free happier ending at Massage Envy. TIFWIW

MOU≠Contract

He'll get some sort of "make this go away" money, but he doesn't want his name dragged thru public any more about PSU by going to court. Common sense to me, but logic isn't going over well these days.

And who else besides Currie is beating down his door with offers? That’s been part of my argument against Schiano - who else wants this guy? There was a bidding war with Mullen, Kelly, and probably Frost. Schiano? No
