Oh, and none of that "wear a mask as you walk to your table" BS, either.
The concept of herd immunity is moot if antibodies don’t last or aren’t viable. It’s why we deal with the flu every year.
Let's chat again after wave 2 Einstein. Coming soon.
It is extremely rare if not unheard of for someone to get C19 twice so one would have to conclude based on the evidence so far that antibodies are effective. It is possible that this will become something where they recommend annual vaccinations. However your analogy with the flu isn't a good one 'cause they generally vary it from yr to yr based upon different strains of flu.
This is a good resource:
Can you catch the coronavirus twice? Here's what research says.
The science isn’t settled (not surprising for a novel pathogen) but there is reason to doubt any hypothesis at this point.
There's a start up in SF trying to develop a universal vaccine. Don't know how plausible it is.Memory cells not being able to adjust to an evolving virus is why we haven’t nailed down a universal flu vaccine.
Should we err on the side of affirming individual rights or taking individual rights away, in the face of a lack of evidence? I think that's what you guys are discussing?
NY does not seem to be seeing any significant bump from labor day
I am no Cuomo fan but this is an absurd position. Hurt Trump? Trump had zero chance of winning NY no matter whatThere is zero reason for NYC to be locked down! Cuomo is either woefully ignorant about the virus or he is doing it politically to keep the economy down, unemployment high and hurt the Trump campaign for 2020.
I would say it is a mix of both but mostly political.
