Gee, remember when Fulmer took over for Majors and he was considered to be a player's coach. Lot of people were bad mouthing Majors at the time. But now we know that it was Majors who built the program and set the work ethic standard and Phil reaped the benefits.

Majors was never going to win a NC here. He couldn't even beat Alabama. Fulmer did plenty to get us over that hurdle. Sure, laziness and inattention to detail prevailed in his later years, but give credit where it is due. Fulmer took the program to a level Majors was incapable of taking it.

You misunderstood what I am saying. Regardless of whether the coaching is better or worse, some players will make similar comments. If Nick Saban leaves Alabama, there will be some player that says the new coaching staff is better. Does that mean that the new coaching staff is better?

Comments like these are simply not credible. The coaching staff very well could be better, but a comment from a player about a former coach is not reliable evidence one way or the other.

I'll tell you what is credible, going from 4-8 to 5-0 in year 3 under a new head coach. It makes sense they would speak well of the new staff.
