Late games

It’s the byproduct of being relevant and good again.

If this is the old 5-7 or 7-5 Tennessee teams from 09-21, it would be a lot more noon games on the SEC Network or another secondary ESPN network.

Get used to playing night games. We will be playing those for years to come, as long as we are good. ESPN wants to showcase its best teams in primetime and the teams that draw viewers.

I recall us playing Kentucky at night a good bit even before this current staff. I personally prefer the afternoon game but it is what it is. The new TV deal has the night game as the "primetime" game instead of 3:30 EST and ABC/ESPN need the best team who will bring in the most viewers. UT brings the audience AND the team is really good.

There seem to be more night games in the SEC overall this year. Probably due to the broadcasting change up where we went totally ABC/ESPN and conference expansion.

What's up with UT playing all these late days games? Makes it difficult for the players to wait all day most Saturdays.

Tennessee is the SEC's and tv's 2024 media darlings with a superlative defense and an $8 million dollar quarterback leading the way.

May be the one time I agree with LK

If the schedule stands, Ole Miss will have only had one night game at home this season and no SEC night games. Kiffin was asked about his thoughts on the Rebels’ upcoming afternoon games to close out the season on Monday.

“Yeah, I think that’s proven over time in NFL and college,” Kiffin said about the environment of night games compared to afternoon games. “Playing at night in electric atmospheres is a home-field advantage and it’s tough when you’ve got to do that as an opposing team. So that’s been proven for a long time. So who went at night? LSU gets to play at night again, I guess? Shocker. That’s two for two for them.”

Ole Miss doesn’t really have a great night game vibe.

Tailgating in the Grove during the day with the beautiful coeds is where it’s at for the Rebels.

They don’t deserve night games.

Some of us remember when there were no night games at Neyland.

And it hasn't been that long ago that only a handful of games were telecast each Saturday. Sometimes one or two games each Saturday or 4 regional games.

I once drove 3 hours from Denver to Goodland, Kansas with a couple of other Vol fans to see the Vols on TV because the game wasn't carried in Denver. We were told it would be carried as far west as Goodland so made motel reservations, drove there, checked in the motel, went and bought a couple of six packs, went back and settled in to watch the game. It wasn't carried there.! Drove 3 hours back home!!
