Last year Bama said we were the most physically tough team they played. What happened

Zone read gimmick offense does not work against a NFL style defense.

Same offense was ran last year against an NFL Alabama defense. That offense put the most rushing yards up against that defense and was a couple plays away from winning the game.

Yes it does work. You have to have healthy players and great OL play. Yesterday, we had neither. Carry on.

And stop with the ridiculous injury excuse. This is year 4 and we should at least have capable backups by now.

Butch changed S&C coach, went away from getting stronger and more toward explosiveness. Which has worked quite well because every offense we have played has had explosive plays against us.

Injuries are an excuse? Lmao!!!!

Didn't we have a week off before the game last year and Bama played 7 or 8 in a row?

A healthy squad would have been more competitive, but their defense knew our playbook...Their QB ran away from our guys like water off Gor-Tex...Sometimes he wasn't even touched....

Shoop's defense requires quick linebackers that can play aggressive and corners that can hold their own in man coverage. It is designed to attack the offense and not have to rely on keeping the play contained.

Go back to Appy State. Our defense seemed powerful the first series with JRM, Kirkland and Sutton. Things changed when we lost JRM to the penalty.

Va Tech we looked good after we settled down.

Then All SEC players began dropping like flies.

Hey genuis. When you're missing 13 starters and backups it's the injuries.

We had Marcus Tatum playing RT from the first quarter on. The kid is 265 lbs and was supposed to redshirt.

That's how bad it got.

Wow I can't believe I am agreeing

All these freakin excuses, our starters that are 1st team guys looked just as bad as the 3rd team guy. Butch seems to recruit players that aren't ready yet while our competition is getting guys that can play now, that's the diff in a 5* vs 3-4* . Our OL that started the season is the group that was undersized last yr, still undersized and not ready this yr. The word now is they need to be 5th yr players to be good. Take a look at Wisconsin line pretty much all JR's all big enough to play and have been since freshman yr, and got better every yr! Point is it's the freakin coaching that's not developing our talent
