From what I’ve read the stickers are made of destructible material and can’t be transferred.
Game is over. We won , 6-2. On to the next one, tonight. Hopefully we get on a roll early again tonight. We need to see if one can be removed from another bat in tact and hand it to the ump when we exchange lineups.
On the other hand the original call was a homerun. Did they have video evidence there was not a sticker on the bat when he hit the ball or they only found that after he mashed the ball with that bat and then bounced it on the ground?
TV admitted during the interview that they have noticed more bats that the stickers have fallen off. Get off of the conspiracy theory rhetoric.Who is "they"? Our guys? Again, I know it's hard to admit, but if it were flipped, and it was Vandy or UF or Arkansas, would you honestly just accept the story that the sticker came off? That they didn't know the sticker was a big deal?
I already lived through losing my favorite basketball coach over some silliness, I don't want to go through that again with TV.

Beck said the sticker came off during batting practice so I have to take him at his word on that. It did have the WCU sticker from Wednesday night so it was approved for the game prior. I’m not into conspiracy theories but Corbin had to have some inclination the bat didn’t have the Vanderbilt sticker on it. He told his catcher to check the bat immediately the home run was hit. Personally, I didn’t even know about the stickers until this happened and it sounded like Vitello wasn’t much too concerned about it either. The last thing you are thinking about as a coach/player is if my bat has a stupid sticker on it.We need to see if one can be removed from another bat in tact and hand it to the ump when we exchange lineups.

I agree. Enjoying watching a GREAT BaseVol team! Hopefully moving forward…granted it’s a delicate detail…we’ll stay on top of this inspection sticker issue and comply until a simpler, more reliable system is implemented! Let’s sweep these Commodores!!Game is over. We won , 6-2. On to the next one, tonight. Hopefully we get on a roll early again tonight.
Corbin called foul when Vandy was adversely affected. If Beck had gone 0 for 4, the issue would never have arisen. No different than batters batting out of order. No need to challenge until your team is adversely affected. Corbin may be a jerk, but the challenge after the Beck home run is not evidence of it.They waited until Beck hit a dinger to say something. Based off Corbin’s comments, he was looking for stuff after what happened at auburn, plus the Ole Miss comments about the Vols’ bats sounding different. So when Beck hit his HR, it made sense to have the catcher paying most attention, since he was closest to the bat. There was an obvious sticker on it (could see it on TV), but they erred on the side of caution and didn’t count the run. I don’t know the rule, but it looks to me like the player would be disqualified if there was an illegal bat being used; otherwise, they should’ve counted the run. For all we know, the catcher might have removed the sticker, it might have just been an oversight. I don’t even know if they seized the bat. Personally, it seems to be Corbin just being a jerk about things, which lines up with everything else about Vanderbilt and their stadium and their Whistler and their stupid Vandy Boys logo. I’m sure the Vols baseball managers are handling the issue going forward.
Yes it is.Corbin called foul when Vandy was adversely affected. If Beck had gone 0 for 4, the issue would never have arisen. No different than batters batting out of order. The umpires showed Vitello the bat after the first refusal. No one said anything about Vitello being a victim. That is not how it works at all. CTV was wrong here. He is not allowed to see it. We have to immediately confiscate and no one is allowed to handle it from either team. CTV is not a victim here.
On the other hand, Vandy will be our victim tonight...![]()
If we assume that the sticker came off during batting practice them maybe then the vandy staff found the sticker(or stickers) on the field and knew they had an Ace up their sleeve.Beck said the sticker came off during batting practice so I have to take him at his word on that. They already said the sticker was on the bat in question but came off during batting practice. Beck just didn’t think anything of it whenever it happened. If people want to call them cheaters then so be it. We all know they aren’t cheaters. If anybody is cheating it’s Vanderbilt with their scholarship advantage they’ve had for years due to being a private school. Nobody cares about Tennessee sports outside of Tennessee fans anyways so it’s always been us against the world.
Well, look at it this way......honestly, some VU fans will say "good for Corbin, finding a way to get an edge". But for me, I would not want TV to call on what appears to many to be a silly technicality to wipe off a player's home run. It just feels petty and sissy to me and I don't wish to win a game against the "VU boys" in that way. Just feels prissy to me.Corbin called foul when Vandy was adversely affected. There’s more to all this than meets the eye. Corbin will do things other coaches wouldn’t do to win, and the examples are many.Well, look at it this way......honestly, some VU fans will say "good for Corbin, finding a way to get an edge".
