Last game of the regular season (thank god!)

In all my years as a Vol fan, I have never been so glad to see a season end. If good fortune shines on us today and we win the day, I'm glad we'll be going to a bowl for the sake of the seniors and the positive effect it will have on the program. However if we dont, I wont be too terribly heartbroken because I'm ready to put this season behind me and forget it ever happened.
Where was you last year?

So, you weren’t a Vol fan last year? Cause if you’re more anxious for this season to end than you were for last season to end, then I tend to question your fandom.

Are you counting SchiaNOGate as part of this season or last?

If we lose today I will either have to start drinking the hard stuff again or I will have to stay off this website until Fall. There will be people yelling to fire the entire staff, hire Gruden or whomever. This place is like my ex-wife. She couldn't make her mind up either. One week we have Moses and parting of the Orange sea. The next week we need to fire everyone. lol
Got to love a battered Vol Fan.

Has anyone called for the firing of this staff? Maybe so andni just didnt see it. But that feels like hyperbole to me.

Now many of us arent happy we ended up with this staff but firing any of them now is probably begging for more problems. Just hate they have to learn on the job at our program and not elsewhere.

I’ll bring the cheese, you bring the whine. UT is on the way back up! It’ll take more than a year. Good grief!

Let's face it. Tennessee is to the SEC what Illinois is to the Big Ten, what Vandy used to be to this conference. If what I'm watching so far today is indicative of this coaching staff's abilities, that's not going to change for a while.

All the years are just running together ... we've been awful ... we are awful ... and we will continue to be awful. There is no hope for this program.

Yet you came back after last season. This season was much better than last IMO. Improvement most every week, two SEC wins, statistically better in a lot of categories. We all want the same thing but have different ideas of how and when we should get there but overall I'm happy with the job Pruitt has done this season. I look for us to come out and get this W today, call me crazy but I feel we've been better on the road than we have at home this season(another improvement) and I just think we get it done.

Yes ... you're CRAZY!

Butch doesn’t get an SEC win again with this squad.

At least Pruitt squeaked out two wins against Top 25 teams.

This is just embarrassing. If you're happy with our "improvement," I urge you....implore you....to expect better. I'll never be happy with this. We're going to finish in last again, so in no way do I see improvement.

I rest my damn case! Those of you who are saying "what about last season?" I think for me, the difference is last year I knew (and understood why) that team completely quit on Butch Jones. He lost the team. I dont think Pruitt lost this team necessarily, but this team has by far the weakest psyche of any Vol team I have watched. And I KNOW it's the worst oline I've ever seen on the hill. Thank god it's almost over!

Yes there have been several people talking about Helton needs to be replaced. It is his first year. Give the staff a break and see what happens. When we have a good O line and we return most of our skill players, then we can tell what kind of play caller Helton is.

According to rumor one person in particular is wanting to fire OC Helton...CJP ring a bell?

If that is true, his is the only opinion that matters. But to prove my point just look at some of the other posts. Lot of discussion on cutting our loss and cleaning house, don't wait 2 or 3 more years, and who we should have hired instead of Pruitt. This is one of the most fickle places on earth.

Worst season I can remember, first game 1962. The reason I say that is the way we lost from a fan entertainment perspective. The opener against WV they we bulldozed in the 1st quarter. Then trampled by UF & UA, the AU game I can't explain. I mean the games were over basically before they started. The UK win game gave us hope of winning out then the UM and Vandy debacles? I don't care about win loss just want an entertaining game on Saturday. I rate the entertainment record at 4-8.

I may be but even Nostradamus was wrong once or twice. Not happy about the ending Saturday but it happens and until the Butch Jones mentality is completely out of that locker room it'll happen again. Saturday was not indicative of what this team and staff will be under Pruitt.

No one could possibly know that at this point in the process. Everyone on both sides are just guessing some positive some negative. Of course he knows what it takes to be successful, but can he get a group of men to follow his directions? Jury is still out.

See I think most want to win, entertainment is for movies, I don't care if we win 2 to 0. Just win!
