Neither have improved , I have watched several freshmen QB's that look way more poised and experienced than JG he is a liability for this team...…..Yes I know he
doesn't play defense they are so unprepared by this multi Million $$ coaching staff.....

It’s time they earn those millions IMO!

2015. : Alabama was #2
2016# Alabama 1, LSU 5, Oke Miss 7, Auburn 8, Georgia 9 Florida 14
2017: Bama 1, Georgia 3, LSU 8, Florida 9, Tamu
10, Auburn 14
2018: Georgia 1, bama 7, Auburn 12, LSU 14,
Tamu 16, Florida 17, usc 18
2019: Georgia 1, bama 2 , LSU 3, tamu 5, Florida 8,
There is no reason we’re that far behind those schools in performance

Need to mention no S&C program during 2016 and 2017. That's one reason why our performance is sub-par. Unfortunately, you can't make up S&C in a year and a half.

I don’t give a rip what the rankings were. Who are the impact players? Butch brought in Barnett, Hurd, Kamara and Dobbs. Those men can play. Butch also brought in Guarantano and the journeymen upperclassmen so you can throw out any rankings for those years as they are a joke.

Maybe TOTO and some of the freshmen are sec caliber but Pruitt needs impact players ASAP and also to bury Guarantano and the upper classmen who lost to GA State on the depth chart. Jarrett and the upper classmen, except Jennings and a couple more, are OVC caliber players at best.

I will give Pruitt benefit of the doubt until mid season to see if he plays Maurer and the kids and if they actually improve.

So please let us know after 2 more games what opinion you came too. We got 12 games this year and 1/3 is already gone .

As good as our recruiting has been, I think Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Auburn and maybe a couple others in the SEC has been even better over the past 4 years. Compared to other SEC schools we are mid tier when it comes to recruiting. No excuse for our lackluster play though.
Who wants to bet the 2020 class will be ranked somewhere in the low to mid 40’s?? If the losing comtinues HB is gone and so is the class. There won’t be a top 25 class next year with the meltdown the team is currently going through...

Touché, but look at the special teams even. It’s rare I see Callaway even attempt to take a chance and return anything. I think they are mentally under developed as well, which mostly leads back to Butch and the culture right now unfortunately.
Mentally under developed is putting it mildly and I’m not 100% sure it’s all on the coaches. Some of these guys appear clueless under the most obvious conditions

We need a real head coach. There has to be a face to our program again. Someone who can calm down the panic and get these talented young men to believe in themselves and play for each other. .

If getting chosen to play for UT isn't enough to make you "believe in yourself" then what in the world is???

Butch recruited to the star rankings even if they didn’t fit the team or schemes he was running. As a result, we have a mis-mash roster that’s not built to compete in the SEC. Too slow at the skill positions while he wanted smaller, faster players on the O-Line. (Explains why we can never pick up 3rd and 1; and inefficient in the red zone)

Add in practices that were more like a dance party and gym workouts that were less strenuous than a spa day and you see why we are in a mess. I think so far Pruitt is bringing in players who will compete at SEC levels and he’d be better off if a few more rats jumped off the ship (or walked the plank). The team has a loser mentally built in from a decade of incompetence and it’s going to take an old fashioned revival to exorcise those demons.

They just need 3 or 4 years like all the halfwits say. After 3 or 4 years most either regress or transfer elsewhere and light it up..

Last 10 years lowest ranking was 21 twice , highest is # 5 twice. Several times we were ahead of Clemson. So for those that argue we don’t have the talent that’s bullsh**. Tennessee has been able to recruit at a high level despite a coaching carousel and multiple losing seasons( didn’t think I would ever type that) . We need a real head coach. There has to be a face to our program again. Someone who can calm down the panic and get these talented young men to believe in themselves and play for each other. Pruitt might me a defensive genius but he is not HC material and I’m not sure we can afford much more before our recruits exit stage left like a lot of fans are doing now.

This is a lot to look at...To summarize we have on Roster at this moment...5-5*+33-4*+52-3*+40=78 on Roster. Most notable is the number of 4* in last two years.
2015-(29, Enrollees)-(2-5*)-(14-4*)-(12-3*)Juan Jennings 4*, Darrell Taylor 4*, 0-5*+2-4*+0-3*=2 on Roster.
2016 -(22, Enrollees)- (0-5*)-(10,4*)-(12,3*)-0,5*/8-4*-Nigel Warrior, Jarrett Guarantano, Tyler Byrd, Marquez Calloway, Marquill Osborne, Daniel Bituli, Ryan Johnson 4*, Carlin Fils-aime 4* /4-3*)Marcus Tatum 3*,Brandon Johnson 3*,Austin Pope 3*,Baylen Buchanan3*, 0-5*+8-4*+4-3*=12 on Roster.
2017-(27 Enrollees)-(1-5*)-(4-4*)-(16-3*)-5* Trey Smith-4* Ty Chandler, Maleik Gray, Eric Crosby, Will Ignont, 3* Jordan Murphy, Cheyenne Labruzza, LaTrell Bumphus, Matthew Butler, Kivon Bennett, Theo Jackson, Solon Page III, Shanon Reid, Riley Locklear, K'Rojhn Calbert, Deandre Johnson, Josh Palmer, Jacquez Jones, Shawn Shamburger, Brent Cimaglia, Tim Jordan, 1-5*+4-4*+16-3*=21 on Roster.
2018-(22 Enrollees)-(0-5*)-(8-4*)-(14-3*)-0-5*-4* J.J. Peterson, Alontae Taylor, Greg Emerson, Bryce Thompson, Dominick Wood-Anderson, Jordan Allen,
Emmit Gooden, Jerome Carvin, Jeremy Banks, - 3* Jahmir Johnson, J.T. Shrout, John Mincey, Ollie Lane, Trevon Flowers, Kurott Garland, Kingston Harris, Cedric Tillman, Kenneth George Jr., Paxton Brooks, 9-4*+10-3*=19 on Roster.
2019-Enrollees (22)-(2-5*)-(10-4*)-(10-3*)3-5* Darnell Wright, Wanya Morris, Aubrey Solomon 10-4* Henry To'o To'o, Quavaris Crouch, Ramel Keyton, Jaylen McCollough, Eric Gray, Tyus Fields, Jackson Lampley, Roman Harrison, Jackson Lowe, Savion Williams, 10-3* Brian Maurer, Aaron Beasley, Warren Burrell, Elijah Simmons, Darel Middleton, Sean Brown, Chris Akporoghene, Kenney Solomon, Jerrod Means, Braden Collins 4-5*+10-4*+10-3*=24 on Roster.

Just goes to show that Butch and the recruiting services were wrong on their evaluations on so many of those recruits. Maybe the physical tools were there and they got by on that at the HS level, but there were so many among those "stars" that didn't have the mind or the heart to play and succeed at the SEC level. I also fault the coaching to a degree for not being able to get the best out of the talent they had. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water....

Funny how they only get our classes wrong.

Hard for someone like Callaway and Wood-Anderson to develop when you don’t have a QB to throw to them.

Which sucks because we are essentially throwing away Jennings, Callaway, and Wood Anderson so we can ride out with JG
Hard to develop as a QB when you’ve had multiple Oline configurations.

There are plenty of gripes to have about the o line.

But blaming a QB's development of making pre snap reads, having proper footwork and mechanics, and simple IQ are nothing things you can blame on o line.

Carl - These kids were not clueless in high school! I would suggest that 100% is on the coaches or close to it. What else would cause this?
