Lane on Departures

A view from the doghouse...........Next year might be tough fellas, but not as bad as some predict. Your defense is good enough to keep you in ALL your games...huge positive. Your offense basically needs a QB that won't beat your team...I think that is achievable. I say you win all the games your supposed to and maybe one you aren't supposed to. Who knows, you may just whip up on the red clay hounds or the purple pakiderms....a very real possibilty. That alone would give the Kiff instant credibility and a huge boost. Those of us down here in God's country wish y'all a speedy recovery and good luck......except for on Oct 10th. Now, go brush your tooth and get ready to rumble....:salute:

As Woof Woof fan will attest...I like to rile up the Corch Meyerz boys on occasion.:pepper:

I would like to see a Florida/USC matchup. Go ahead and kick Oregon's teeth in this year too since they were on here running their mouth for the longest time before Bryce Brown chose Tennessee.

Crompton would be ok if our receivers would learn to catch with their feet.

Ugh, do not get me started on the Floats and that pretender of a program. The next time they post something, just call them THE BIG FADE. They'll understand.

Trust me, I wanted to see the SC/UF match up too. In my opinion, it would have been a beat down of epic proportion.

SC's defense last year was the real deal...well it was except for 30 minutes last year in Corvallis.:banghead2:

I am by no means calling SC's defense a bunch of push overs, so don't get me wrong but Florida went up against some of the best defenses in the nation and fared pretty well.

Either way, SC had a much better football team than either TX or OU.

Why do Duck fans or "floats" fans think that every major recruit is going to Oregon every year?

If you say so, however, I politely disagree that the defenses that UF faced last year were "some of the best."

Bama's D wasn't too shabby but they were helped out a lot by an offense that controlled the clock and kept them off the field. When the O couldn't do that, the defense turned into an okay one.

Statistics prove otherwise. Granted they are not the only measure of great defense but SEC defenses top to bottom are second to none. Even with our horrible showing the defense was top tier.

Because they have 1001 uniform variations...x-box consoles in each players locker...flat screen TV's...and Uncle Phil Knight.

They're what I like to refer to as the nouveau riche of the college football landscape. They had a few good years while SC was down, and now they think that they're on the same level as your traditional powers. They're competitive and will win some games, however, they're the Auburn of the P10.

Auburn? Hell, Auburn has had some great football teams. Oregon has never had anything close.

I agree, Bama and Ole Miss had some pretty good run defense, however, after that the SEC defenses were a mess last year.

It's all relative...they're both programs that will throw out a really good team on occasion, however, more often than not are on the outside looking in. Traditionally, Auburn has more history, however, they're still just Auburn.

seriously? SCe and UF both had solid defenses. They weren't as strong as yours, but they were pretty damn good. On the whole, the SEC had some stout D where the Pac 10 was an out loud joke.
