Wow, you have problems. If you feel that strongly about young people and current(the last 15 years or so) fashion, that's fine. But you do realize that most of our players dress like this, and they are the reason for the black jersey?

It's his opinion...and you obviously don't care what he thinks so why shove yours down everyone's throat if no one else is allowed to? You have your opinion on black and everyone else has theirs. The poll on GVX has 82% gave the black jersey a thumbs up though, just so you know...

And, I am not even old. I am 23. I didn't dislike them because of Tennessee's history and tradition. I disliked them because white helmet, black jersey and orange pants are a hideous combo.

Sorry for being a hater. I guess I will shut up now because some people on here seem to think there is such a thing as a correct opinion and you have to believe it just because they do.

The ones calling people haters for this are the same ones calling for Crompton's head and booing our team in front of recruits. Their historical perspective is about as long as their peckers and little brains---not very long.

I dont think anyone should complain about the jerseys. The black looked great for those that have wanted black jerseys, which includes me and the players and about 80% of the fans. For those that like it old school, we had plenty of orange last nite. The orange pants, and the orange power T on the helmet, I think it was win win for everyone. Not to mention the recruits loved it which is a big plus.

Considering that we wore the black jersey once before in the 20's this post doesn't make any sense.

Every generation of stubborn old people has complained about what young people wear. Luckily, guys like Monte are connected with the youth and can still reach them despite the age gap. I guess that is just the difference between being a world class coach or a grumpy old man.

Monte never lost his youth and that allows him to demand as much as he wants from the players without ever alienating them. Players having fun and willing to give anything for their coach makes them play much harder and buy into the system much more.

Thank God our coaches know how to reward players and you can bet every recruit in attendance took note of that fact. This is tremendously huge for recruiting and so has the Lil Wayne recognition.

I guess the 80% who wanted the black jerseys all have no taste. I'm glad that we have people like you to judge that. Judging people based on their preference of a color scheme is absurd.......are you a fashion designer or do you just talk with a lisp??

didn't care much for the black jerseys. It was a fun, one-time Halloween thing I hope.

I got news for you - don't get too excited. Tennessee's colors are ORANGE & WHITE; always have been and always will be. You newbies might as well get that straight. That uniform combination looked awful and was what it was for - halloween. Teams that are basically below average pull stunts like this - championship teams don't resort to this type of stuff.

I'm definitely not a Newbie and I liked the uni. You should get used to the fact that the most important thing to the boosters is winning. It takes recruiting great players to win championships and it takes great recruiters to get those players.

Our coaches are going to continue to shake up the stale image of the UT program in order to attract players. Things like this will be more common under this staff no matter how many NCs they win.

I still don't get how people like you try to claim this historical knowledge while ignoring the fact that this was also done before you were even born!

The complaining really makes you sound like an old man that ate too much Campbell's Tomato Soup and sharted in your depends undergarments. Luckily, opinions like your's have no bearing on how our program does business.

For those people that missed it, Kiffin has already said a few times that the players asked for the jerseys.... so I don't really think it was to placate the people. He also said that Monte himself had a big influence on them getting the jerseys. I do think that if it happens again, it won't be for a long time.

Well if the big money boosters prevent it from happening then shame on them their not the ones playing. It definitely gives us a boost playing and also in recruiting. If those old farts dont like the uniforms then they are actually hurting the program. It shouldn't be about them but our program. They need to keep their egos in check and do whatever the hell CLK wants because he is the man guiding this ship.

"It's a player's game". They are the one's out on the field bustin there's to make us proud of our team and if that's what they wanted I will stand behind it! It looked great.

I would say that the more Kiffin wins, the more he will get to do things like the black jerseys. Winning changes a lot of minds.

By the way, I loved the black jerseys. I know I'll get hammered, but I'd love to see a black helmet and black pants to go along with the black jerseys. I'm not saying to wear this combo all of the time, but once or twice a year wouldn't be too bad.

Another thing, the black jerseys must mean good luck. They won wearing orange pants.

I will admit that I think the black looked great but I think it would have looked more bad ass if:

The helmet was black with orange T and black facemask

The jersey was not see through and the number was completely orange with no white border.

The pants were black with the orange T on the front in the left groin.

Overall the black looked great but I think my suggestion would look better.

Wow....I lived in East Tennessee for 20 years attended UTK, My grandfather Lived in East Tennessee for 75 years and also attended UTK, My grandfather is really sick and I went to watch the game with him and he seen the black UNIs he SMILED for the first time in MONTHS. He told me he is happy to see that Kiffin is bringing excitment back UT. He and I agreed we would not want this more then 1 game and that game should just should be on HALLOWEEN only! So I am DEF. Not a kid wearing my pants half off nor is my grandfather, who if I showed him what some of you "boosters said" he would have some not so nice words! He donates money every year, I just finished grad school and got my first GIG, I WILL BE DONATING money. Count VOLCULA get a clue buddy!
