Given our past hires . Kiffin would be a home run hire that will not happen because our fan base would prefer insert Google search name here over a guy that has proven he can coach offenses up

I don’t think our fanbase has any say in who they hire.

Kiffin would be a good hire if you could guarantee two things:

1. That he would treat this as a destination job and commit to being here long term to atone for the mistake of his earlier betrayal.

2. That he would clean up his act relating to the NCAA stuff ... always pushing the line.

If those two things were certain, I’d say bring him back. If he ultimately had big success, that would be a “30 for 30” story that would make you cry.

As it is now, just watching our team play makes us cry.

This is ridiculous this is even a discussion. Maybe people are right about us. Maybe Vol Fans are the dumbest fans in the nation.

Dude, he hasn’t been in any trouble or related to any trouble with NCAA. Not sure where people keep thinking that.

Because we had to meet with the NCAA and bring him in to testify. If you think he is ever back here under any circumstance, you need to go into rehab and get off whatever you are hooked on. You may think all can be forgiven and he can just walk back in. We may have some idiots up in Knoxville but they ain't Louisville idiots.

Never said he had a chance to come here. However, he has yet to be implicated or indicted in any issues with the NCAA

7-3 at FAU.

Sadly, most of these Vol fans don't want a winner that is willing to come to Knoxville.

They want Coach "Google Me" or some guy that's idea of excitement is sipping unsweet tea, Sunday dinners with family and playing checkers at local nursing homes in his free time.

And many-a-fan would admit, it was a mistake hiring Butch as his dream job here at Tennessee,

which proves that we all make mistakes,

so maybe this is a time to forgive and re-hire one who knows how to beat bama.

You are correct. Some Tennessee fans have a difficult time forgiving and forgetting. Kiffin made a decision based on his dream to coach at USC. I like some of the coaches suggested by some and I feel confident they could be successful at Tennessee. We know what Kiffin can already do with less talent when he was here and had a chance to beat Bama. The question is can the other coaches mentioned do the same ? We already know what Kiffin can do. Do we take a chance on a new coach who needs to prove he can do the job or go with someone who has already been here and has proven his abilities ?

Hire Kiffin and we are competitive in the East year one.

I honestly can't believe any true Vol fan would be on board with bringing Kiffin back. The bridge is burned, let it stay that way.

There is no way, absolutely zero chance, that the UT administration would ever hire Lane Kiffin again after what he did. We would be the laughing stock of college football. The folks who support this idea are making VolNation look stupider than a bag of burning mattresses.

It's called a person's right to choose as you have the same right. A persons's allegiance to a team need'nt be defined by their coach choice as you suggest. We all want the same thing for the Vols to be successful. Your choice in a coach doesn't determine your level of loyalty or passion for the Vols.
