Lane Kiffin is not needed here at UT

A winning coach that knows how to win while having fun doing it and could potentially have what it takes to beat Bama isn't needed at UT?

Should have just went with Doeren as our first choice and saved us from this mess we are in then.

Guarantee if the players were asked for their input, they would say Kiffin.

Fulmer knows that if players were asked when he was getting pushed out, they would have wanted Fulmer.

I'm enjoying the Brohm comparisons. Just shows if Brohm turns "scumbag" and leaves Purdue after a year, that's ok.

It is ok if someone does that to some other program as long as it is your program.

Not mad at him for leaving for USC if someone wants to be mad about something be mad about the mess he left behind.

Seems to be the modus operandi.

And what mess did he leave? In all honesty, he wasn’t the reason we got Dooley or Butch.

Hamilton could have easily rolled with Kippyvas interim for 2010 season. He also could have not forced Cutcliffe to keep Lane’s assistants he didn’t take to USC.

Hamilton wanted cheap. That caused the mess.

I agree. Wanting Kiffin back is like wanting your ex girlfriend back after she left your ass for another man in the middle of the night. I know the reference is tired and overused, but to me thats exactly how it feels. Except imagine her leaving you THEN going on twitter and making fun of you at every opportunity. People who want him hired have no pride and are pathetic.

Some of us take pride in winning and know a good coach when we see one. You and the rest of volnation still butt-hurt need to self evaluate as to why you care.

I also dont mind using my ex as long as she keeps "winning" - im happy gettin my wins.

Valid concern. However, we never got in serious trouble. Probation and secondary violations are basically a slap on the wrist. However, Kiffin today is not the same prick we had back in 2009

His twitter account says otherwise.

Still bashes UT every chance he gets because he knows he’ll never get another opportunity here.

Still seems like an immature prick to me.

Isn't that wishful thinking? The consensus is that's why Saban basically ran him off.

Saban didn’t let him coach the natty because of the media show of him taking FAU job. And that decision is the exact reason Bama didn’t enter this season going for a three peat.

What tweets exactly is he “bashing Tennessee”

Social media is a big part of life for recruits and students in fan base. Your age is showing if you think otherwise.

What does the date have to do with class. Either you have it or you don't. Kiffin doesn't.

Kiffin's character might be a little spotty, but he has more than his share of class. Maybe you're just not seeing it. Lookit, there is something wrong with everybody. Nobody is going to be anybody's else's idea of perfect. Kiffin clowned around too much when he was here, after Phil, but I thought he had way more class and character than Urban Meyer -- and a lot of other coaches. I also think he has matured and trained himself well to be an SEC HC, since his first time in Knoxville.

Funny how just a year earlier Kirby Smart took the UGA job and Saban literally let him do two jobs at once and stick around thru the playoff.

There wasn’t a media side show of Kirby and UGA job.

Because Coach O has secured the LSU job by last year’s SEC title, it was widely know he was gonna pursue Kiffin. Since Kiffin out of nowhere took the FAU job, there was a huge media sideshow because of it. Kiffin didn’t do anything to create except for taking a job.

If they like mediocrity, Lane Kiffin would be perfect for them. He's been in P5 4+ years and won more than 8 one time.

Coaching Phil's disastrous last recruited classes -- and then a team with severe ncaa sanctions. Other coaches turned down the job at USC because they did not want to walk into the job with that kind of handicap.

I ran the numbers comparing Recruiting Rankings derived expected W/L vs. Actual W/L. I was a bit shocked at how poorly Kiffin scored there. FAU seems to have a pretty big talent advantage over almost everyone they beat this year. USC had huge talent at the beginning of his tenure there.

Over his last 4 years as a head coach, he averaged 2.75 less wins than he should have manage based on talent alone.

Code:
Kiffin 2017	2013	2012	2011
-2.75	Exp	11	14	13	10
	Act	10	10	7	10
	Diff	-1	-4	-6	0

Probably over 20 plus threads begging Kiffin to come back...

Question for all the Kiffinites.

What makes you so sure he wants to come back? He mocks and goes out of his own way to find something negative to post about UT on Twitter. Funny thing is, some of ya’ll really believe he’s matured. He still hasn’t changed one bit nor does he have respect for this University.

Sorry but a coach with integrity doesn’t seem to fit Kiffin’s narrative.

Maybe somewhere like UL or FSU would be a better landing spot if he’s really that desperate.

Not to mention, what the hell has he proven as a HC in the SEC? I’m not talking about being an OC.

Huge difference between those two.

People who believed in Gruden was a possibility got blasted but somehow the folks who believe Kiffin would be a great option, they get praised for it.

Kiffin had his chance but he pissed it away. The fans nor the University doesn’t owe him a damn thing expect a giant middle finger.

He is not coming because he is not getting hired here so we can really drop him in the conversation. If he were a candidate he would have been contacted by now.

I’m not interested in Kiffin but i do think if he ends up at P5 job he’s gonna be good, really good unless it’s a team with 0 resources. Kiffin did bash us a lot since he left, but he’s the best available. Yes did tank at USC but if i recall Saban tanked at Michigan State as well. My concern is we hire a coach that takes 2-3yrs to be successful and Kiffin would have us competitive in yr one. Kiffin needs FSU job will dominate the acc and his attitude fits the criminoles perfectly

Kiffin is exactly what TN needs...a coach with nads. Both PF and Laura Rutledge(Whom I do respect) agreed the other day that the coach that would make Saban lose the most sleep over would be LK. I agree.

PS. Don't care about his attitude....don't won't to marry him.:hi:
