No point in discussing Kiffin. No way Fulmer hires the guy who took his job. A lot of big boosters, not named Haslam, with names on buildings would lose their mind.

Same goes for Leach. Why would UT fire their AD with a deal in place for Leach to have Fulmer hire him. PR nightmare.

Fulmer will hire someone with ties to Tennessee.

Are we so sure a deal was in place for Leach? Why would Fulmer hiring Leach be a PR nightmare? Currie has shown to be incompetent. So what if Fulmer sees Leach as a good coach and wants him?

Why should we give this mug another opportunity to screw us over? He had his chance and blew it. We need to get to our roots....Tennessee folks. People who love this program and have the skills to bring us back to where we should be.

So a Power 5 school playing a Power 5 school shouldn’t be better than a mid major school playing a Power 5 school?

And you have audacity to say I’m talking idiocy?

Holier Than Thou strike again.
Purdue has a 10 year losing streak to Wisconsin with an AVERAGE loss to them by 4 touchdowns. I doubt FAU could have done any worse. I'll bet Purdue under Brohm wouldn't be losing to Buffalo.

Putting up with and succeeding with Satan looking over your shoulder ought to be worth something.

The anti-Kiffin crowd has two narratives: 1- Poor character 2- Poor coach

If you want to go with 1, then run with it, but remember it's 2017, not 1955.

But it should be obvious that he's knows how to run an offense. And with that putrid offensive outfit the Vols put on the field this year, I would think you would be clamoring for Lane (unless you are stuck in 1955). Now running an offense is not the same as being a head coach. But, he deserves just a tad of credit for what he just did at FAU.

Lame excuse. He had full junior and senior classes full of NFL talent his entire time there because the sanctions only took effect in his third year.

Besides, his boss at USC didn’t think too much of the scholarship excuse

And who fills in for them when those starters inevitably get injuries? The practice squad? Fans selected from the crowd?

I agree. Wanting Kiffin back is like wanting your ex girlfriend back after she left your ass for another man in the middle of the night. I know the reference is tired and overused, but to me thats exactly how it feels. Except imagine her leaving you THEN going on twitter and making fun of you at every opportunity. People who want him hired have no pride and are pathetic.

I think I have gone about this with the wrong perception. I didn’t know we were supposed to think of the football coach as our lover!

No. Its not. We will never hire someone who left under the circumstances that he left. Move on man, its not happening. Ever. He set this university back probably a decade.

Kiffin didn’t set UT back, Hammy and the administration did.

If you quit your job and the company goes bankrupt is it your fault or managements?

You need to get off the Tennessee roots crap. We just need the best coach we can get... period. :good!:

Kiffin didn't *take* Phil's job. He replaced him long after. Phil *took* Johnny's job. Two very different things.

What does the date have to do with class. Either you have it or you don't. Kiffin doesn't.

So you only want UT to consider coaches with SEC head coaching experience? That kind of narrows the applicant pool doesn't it?

I didn't mention class. But since you brought it up:

adjective
Class: of high quality, integrity, status, or style:

3 out of 4 ain't bad. Certainly, he's not classless as you state.

Probably over 20 plus threads begging Kiffin to come back...

Question for all the Kiffinites.

What makes you so sure he wants to come back? He mocks and goes out of his own way to find something negative to post about UT on Twitter. Funny thing is, some of ya’ll really believe he’s matured. He still hasn’t changed one bit nor does he have respect for this University.

Sorry but a coach with integrity doesn’t seem to fit Kiffin’s narrative.

Maybe somewhere like UL or FSU would be a better landing spot if he’s really that desperate.

Not to mention, what the hell has he proven as a HC in the SEC? I’m not talking about being an OC.

Huge difference between those two.

People who believed in Gruden was a possibility got blasted but somehow the folks who believe Kiffin would be a great option, they get praised for it.

Kiffin had his chance but he pissed it away. The fans nor the University doesn’t owe him a damn thing expect a giant middle finger.

What you think if Donte Stalworth or a couple other VFL's went to Fulmer and say. Hey there was a deal with Kiffin-HC Steele-DC an Tee-OC will you make that happen? You think he would listen and do it?
