Actually, USC fans were rather happy with things given how bad the penalties and sanctions were. Had you told them they would be 28-15 thru 3.5 seasons when those sanctions were announced, they’d gladly take it.

Pat Haden was just a horrible AD. Only proof you need is that he replaced Kiffin with an alcoholic.

LOL Doug Dickey quit Tennessee and was rehired by Tennessee as AD. There were alot of hard feelings about him coming back but he was one of our best ADs!

His last year was also the last year of restrictions. And I have no idea what their schedule was like after his last game, but I suspect that had something to do with the interim success. Must have been really impressive though, since they didn't keep the interim.

No point in discussing Kiffin. No way Fulmer hires the guy who took his job. A lot of big boosters, not named Haslam, with names on buildings would lose their mind.

Same goes for Leach. Why would UT fire their AD with a deal in place for Leach to have Fulmer hire him. PR nightmare.

Fulmer will hire someone with ties to Tennessee.

Lame excuse. He had full junior and senior classes full of NFL talent his entire time there because the sanctions only took effect in his third year.

Besides, his boss at USC didn’t think too much of the scholarship excuse
