Lane Kiffin discussion (mega-merged)

He will bask will the boos and jeers, treat him as a non entity, as if he were not in the stadium, that will hurt his inflated ego more than anything.

Exactly. That's why I've said I'd rather give cheers to our players the whole game. I also hope his face isn't on the Voltron. At all.

We should all just stare at him silently, using that creepy UF fan stare that has been used as a gif here so often.

The first comment at the bottom of the article is spot on - The reality is that the media is making a bigger deal than the fans are.. I really haven't seen a whole lot of drama or uproar from our fan base.

Case in point, the alleged Layla tweet didn't even really get that much publicity or attention.

Maybe it's because there's not a whole lot of hype or buildup due to our disappointing season so far..

Regardless, the best thing for us to do is just ignore him - don't give him the attention he doesn't deserve.

Seems like an amateur sportswriter to me trying to get clicks plucking the low hanging fruit. If fans shouldn't care why the need to write an article?

This should go to a warning to VolNation to watch your step this weekend.....we are being watched by TV and SEC to see if we do something that could be penalize...so do it right UT Fans and students

Completely agree. If he turned into Pete Carroll and took the head coaching gig at Bama that would be a different story. But the fact that he's such a skeez and got fired mid season to be hired as a debateably competent OC I really feel like he did us a favor. (Obviously not the fact that he was replaced by Dooley). I hate Kifffin because he is a coach for Bama. Not much else. Now if Dooley had been hired as an OC in the SEC... THAT would be a whole different story.

How about the many VOLS fans like me who thought he was an embarrassing, unproven head coach, and were thrilled that he left?

Another thought here - if the shoe was on the other foot and this same scenario had played out for Bammer or another SEC school, do you think that fan base wouldn't be tempted to make it a big deal and hold onto the animosity? Give me a frakin break, of course they would.

In the case of Bammer, we're talking about the same redneck fans that poisoned Auburn's trees just because they're sore losers...

I like the comments on the bottom of the article. I'm glad he's gone...even though it's tough to be patient. Our time will come.

I like the article. We were not in the wrong to be mad when he took off but the time to get over it is long gone. If anyone still deserves the finger it has to be Hammy.

Would probably be the best thing ever.

Couldn't have said it better. The media constantly stirs up trouble in everything then they act like they had nothing to do with it.:good!:

We may be embarassed this weekend. Not only by our offense, but also our crazy fans. Please don't so anything stupid guys! I know getting good and drunk is fun but stay classy.

It's pretty amazing how classy I THINK I am when I am good and drunk.

They (ESPN) need to get over it, however, why would we treat LK any different than other teams or coaches?............this is the SEC! it's what we do.

Go Vols!!

I think (or hope) that he will be forgotten about after the first few possessions. If they decide to show his mug on the big screen the pot will be stirred though.

yeah it left that part out.
Along with staying just long enough
to get his dads longevity bonus,
getting a hostess fired and pretending he
knew nothing.. etc..

You would think from reading the article that he just turned in a notice and left for another job.
Still, I honestly will joke about him but will pay him no attention Saturday.

If we start throwing crap at him,

1. Its gonna piss Saban and the Bama players off and they will proceed to make the A&M game look like romper room compared to how many points they hang on us....

2. It will be a very negative recruiting tool to all the parents of kids interested in UT if watching the game or actually there on a visit (RICHMOND!!!)

3. We will just add fuel to all the TV sportscasters and everyone else who thinks we are just a bunch of hillbillies and they will proceed to make MORE fun of us as Bama humiliates us on the scoreboard.....

The damage is done, grow up and move forward and don't make us look like a bunch of redneck babies.... If history is right, he will eventually fail out of this job as well and then will be coaching JUCO somewhere....

This is kinda exactly what I was saying. Thank you for this.

Don't ya just hate advice on how to think, act, and feel ! The columnist failed to mention kiffin's lack of maturity required to be a HC, the dude has admitted that looking back, he would have made some different choices.
Don't give the media the sideshow they're hyping. Well that's some more advice, but at least I'm a Vol fan !
