I agree that Helton is nowhere even close to Kiffin when it comes to being an OC and a recruiter. Not saying Helton is bad, or won't one day be elite... but Kiffin is a beast.

It just sickens me the amount of Vol fans that love this overrated scum bag and would welcome him back with open arms. He set this program back a decade minimum. He has only had real success calling plays for Bama. I could call plays for Bama and have success just from playing Madden. He has literally failed at every job except Bama and people still think he is a God. Ridiculous.

I’ll admit that he’s a great OC but wayyyy too much of a bigmouth for the likes of Pruitt or Fulmer. I’m honestly not sure why this rumor even started considering we have, in my opinion, a possibly good OC in the making who’s currently strapped with a limited roster.

Lane would not leave FAU as HC to be OC at Tennessee. My dream coach as OC would be Kendal Briles. He would leave OC at Houston for OC at Tennessee. Unfortunately, that will never happen for 2 reasons, the Baylor baggage and he runs a spread not pro style. IMO he is the best in the game. Had Baylor rolling no matter who the QB was, turned Lane's FAU team into champions and is putting up video game type number with a 3rd string WR as QB.

I would be shocked if Fulmer allowed Kiffin back. Now, Lane can coach up an offense, but I just don’t see it happening. Didn’t Lane just sign a 10 year extension and buy a badass house on the intracoastal with a boat and all the toys in Boca? He could do a lot with JG and Shrout next year, but I just don’t see it happening. Maryland, UNC, might reach out IMO. If Lincoln Riley left for the Browns or another NFL job, maybe OU would consider Lane. I think that is pie in the sky though
