I believe Lane is our better back he continues to show quick decisive move to the hole and down field. Neal struggles to get many yards because he seems to dance too much. He is slow to hole when running leads and dives. On sweeps and off tackle plays, he appears to not want to make the cut and go.

I wonder when Lane will take the starting spot over Neal.

Yup he can run the ball against South Bama High School

I think you missed the point, although it was convenient that he broke a 50+ yd run as I was typing. This is a consistent demonstration of his running style. Every game is the same. Good strong downhill running. He did it against Oregon, Florida, and even last yr. His yards arent that high because he splits carries, same with Neal.

My point was Neal's apparent lack of decisiveness. (he did have a good series a few possessions ago)

I'm not sure if it was before the Florida game that I read this, but they had identical average. Is Neal a better blocker? I thought he was better at catching.

Neal is just as good as lane. Both are capable RBs

I agree, both are very capable and i don't get it sometimes why all the shuffling and dancing in the back field. They are not taught this but continue to show it. From as far back as I can remember, you're taught, one cut, attack the gap...hole isn't there, you either hit it and drive or bounce it

I just don't get it. Lane having a solid game and then you give Tom Smith some of his carries. Just don't get it man. Every week we see something great from Lane, and he still gets slighted carries.

You got a 1a and a 1b. Please stop with the stupid threads about who gets to play on the first play.

IT DOES NOT MATTER. Both guys are "1's".

My buddy at the game said they were checking lane out on side line. He might be banged up a little.

Both look slow

youre an idiot.

Neal stopped and started again then still was full speed again in about 2 steps on that 53 yard run.he might lack alot of things but not top end speed. he was only caught bc the safety had a great angle.
