I'm not personally worried about any losses. TR and AJ are silly, considering they are offensive players and would have little contact with Thompson, even if he were at Bama. If I thought any single prospect might be swayed, it would be Tana. Thompson is walking a tightrope here. If he moves to UT, recruits move with him, he's in deep doo-doo, indeed, if contacts were made when he was at Bama. He'd be flirting with career-ending stuff. Recruiting doesn't have much in the way of ethics, but this move has to be one of the dirtiest moves I've seen in recent years. Stealing recruits would be the sealer. Just when it seemed that relations with UT might smooth out a bit...
I'm not going to lie or be in deniel, I am more pissed about the timing of this move moreso then he actually going to Tenn. But I will say this.....for you fans who think UT can now cherry pick Lance's recruit from Alabama to come up there, I can this with UTMOST confidence....forget it.
AJ McCarron: Lock to Alabama. He said and I quote, "The only way I am not at Alabama is if Nick Saban is not the coach." Forget about him.
Trent Richardson is already making plans to study the playbook with Mark Ingram. While he and AJ are taking a trip up to UT, that is, IMO, more the kids getting one last trip in the recruiting moreso the legit interests.
DJ Fluker basically told LSU---his hometown favorite as a kid---to go fist themselves as he is 100% committed to Alabama.
Nico Johnson is a lifer Bammer fan. No chance.
The ONLY player I could see Tennessee getting from Bama is Tana Patrick.

Notice the bold face print. Lance Thompson has to walk a tight rope now. Getting Thompson doesn't really help UT for recruiting this yr, it is more for next yr and beyond, (or however long he stays).
I am very confident that Tennessee will not steal any player from Bama, but I do see at least one UT getting. I know you guys are going to think I am denial, but perhaps if you get out of cloud 9 and realize the truth, the truth is...Lance Thompson is a great recruiter, I am not arguing that, but Nick Saban IS THE BEST RECRUITER in the game today. LT is what Bama calls the "Point man" in which he makes contact, it is Nick Saban who closes the deal on recruits.Nick does NOT lose players he wants to another team. The players you are dreaming about getting now, you guys have no shot at getting.
The bottomline is: recruits don't sign with schools because of "assistant coaches" they sign with the school and the head coach, and let's face it...you're a recruit who would you rather sign with....Nick Saban or Lane Kiffin? Can on...Homerism aside, Lane ain't in Saban's league. This hiring hurts Bama, but doesn't damage their recruiting.

I'm not sure if some of the posters are being sarcastic or are just downright unintelligent, but I can tell you that the majority of us would certainly agree with your entire post. One of the best from another team's fanbase in a long time. All those AL recruits are pipe dreams as far as I'm concerned. I would be shocked and extremely excited if we got Tana. The truth is we were too late to the recruiting game this year and are lucky to be generating any visits from some of these blue chippers. But it is certainly a strong move for the future in my opinion..
by the way I think most of us would agree that Saban is one of the top coaches in college football...probably the best in my opinion.
Ah...a Bammer has spoken. How's life at the Capstone lately? First you lose Steele, and now Thompson...the short lived "flash" is starting to crumble. Is probation lurking next?opcorn:
