He was supposedly the best linebacker in the country 2 years ago. He has not played a down.
Another 5 star bust??

Donald was redshirted and then he didn't get any time on the field last year as a freshmen. Going into his sophmore season now, it appears UT has him as the #2 SLB behind McCoy. A guy who has been watching the practices (NewVol, I think), said that Donald has been looking purty good so far. Not outstanding, but good...

From the way that article read, it would seem the incoming freshman will see some significant playing time in the fall.

I wish Donald would pan out! I remember being fired up when he signed. I hate it when 5* kids bomb, but a lot of them don't have the work ethic it takes in college. They get by in high school without being pushed

agreed but it seems that during phil's "reign" they didnt have any reason to do anymore. they werent going to play anyway. berry only got to play as a freshman becasue something happened to another player. now with a new coach that WILL play freshmen (or at least give the chance to earn it) we wont see nearly as many 5* busts. hopefully!!!

The SLB in Monte's D blitzes a lot, which is pretty much all he did in HS. He should fit in pretty good if he can learn the coverages.

I agree. I think he will get on the field this year for a few snaps, and be taking over the starting job his Jr. and Sr. year...

Even if he makes a good impression it doesn't mean he'll start over anyone, but if Monte and Lance eventually think he's the man for the job then obviously he will have outshined the others regardless of people's personal bias.
