I’m weird in that I liked those offenses. They beat teams they aren’t supposed to on occasion. But I also recognize it deters some offensive talent.
Yeah I am not snamored with it but the service academys use it because of talent limitations. If the roster is really bad it might not be a bad wrinkle but not an every game every down offense for Tennessee unless we concede we will now be a high floor low ceiling team.

How many players did UCF lose off of that 13-0 team?

As far as the BYU and Coastal Carolina game goes, every team has an off night sometimes. Just look at TN basketball the other night against Florida. If having a bad night means we cant hire a coach then I guess Rick Barnes should be fired tonight too.
He went 12-1 in 2018, 10-3 in 2019 and 6-4 in 2020. Not trending in the right direction. Not just a bad night.

I’m willing to trust White. He definitely knows what will / who will work better than I.

However if it’s someone way out there, someone I don’t like, or they continue to “settle”.......then White can’t be trusted.

Satterfield

These two guys intrigue me. They move mountains with spoons.
This is the big show in the SEC. I don't know if it is the right thing to do...

The next Urban Meyer is gonna be somebody like these guys. Our team is stocked with talent. The talent just needs coaching.

The 6-4 this year included only losses to ranked teams and a solid Memphis team, 3 of which were one possession, two of those were 3 points or less. Easily could have been a 8-2 year. His defense stinks though, he doesn't need to bring them with him.

Most here would be upset because they’ve likely not heard of him. He has won everywhere he’s been and has built buffalo into a solid team.
This dude is MAJORLY overlooked, Leipold has built programs everywhere he's gone and won...That would actually be a sneaky great hire if they go that route.

I think he was mentioned in an earlier thread about possible coaches and there were the obligatory, very clever and unique “Who?” posts. Also, he was called a Google coach so he should not even be a thought for our dumpster fire if a program. I wonder if the sentiment toward him will change since the savior of The Hill, Danny White was hired as AD. I am not knocking Danny White’s hire by any means as I think it is a very good hire. I am knocking the idiots who reply with “Who” and “Google” coach anytime a coach not named Neyland, Gruden, Urban or Freeze are mentioned.

You are obviously right, but we will have more talent left on the roster than two of the teams that beat us this year (UK and Arky). And more raw talent that never got coached up. We aren't ready to compete for the East, but we still have the recruits on hand from past classes that can step up with the right coaching. Face it, we have wasted more highly touted talent than some championship teams use.

No issue with his record. Started 5-7 and then one terrible year and then back to 6-6. Since then I believe he won 10 in 2018, 8 in 2019 and went 6-1 last year only losing to Louisville.

The actual record isn't always telling. If there is constant improvement, then who cares about the early losses?
