If this has been talked about then I apologize now....Lance Guidry is Janzen's father but I watched the Miami (OH) game last night and he is obviously white. This confuses me because he is white, has a different last name and lives in Ohio when all the rest of Janzen's family is in Lake Charles, LA. Is Lance a step father, godfather, adopted father? Im not sure I understand this relationship...can anyone shed some light on this?...btw...his pregame speech was sweet! it got me wanting to put on the pads again!!

All I know is he gave a heck of pregame speech...I wanted to go hit somebody and "go get the D#%m trophy"

I thought that as well....but it still doesnt explain the different last name and why Lance lives is in Ohio and all the rest of the family lives in Louisiana. It kinda sounds something like Nash Nance's dad taking in Da'Rick and Da'rick calling him his dad.

Not all mother's & father's get married before having a child, and guess what.... sometimes they don't even get married at all..... wow shocker.... it's not to difficult to understand. I don't know if these are the circumstances or not, but to be honest it shouldn't really matter what the circumstances are.

My new question is why did you have to ask a stupid question? It has nothing to do with whether he is white or black...the question had to do with the relationship, they dont look alike, have the same last name or live in the same state as the rest of his family. I'm wanting to know how he is related to Janzen. It dosent matter about the skin color...until you made it about the skin color.

Just guessing, but he's probably the biological dad, is divorced from his mom, and got a job to coach in Miami. Also guessing that Janzen lived with his mom after the divorce, who insisted that he change his last name to hers.

Guidry was a coach at McNeese State in Lousiana before going to Miami (OH), thus the Louisiana connection.

I would agree with this but its just speculation..I was hoping that someone actually might know for sure.

he did live in Louisiana before getting the Miami job. I think he was his high school coach.

father and Janzen uses last name of his Mother.

I was confused by the commentators last nite, does Guidry have a job at Miami-Ohio next year, or is it going to be a revamped coaching staff?

He and his wife, Starlet, have four children: Janzen, Madison, Alexis and Kaitlyn. Janzen is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee where he plays football.

I was wondering the same thing because of the last name difference and I assume he is married to Janzen's mother.
