it's true cal's D coordinator was a disciple of alioti. maybe alioti will start a freshman with a broken wrist and put him one on one your best receiver for all of the first half. i suppose it isn't impossible.

To hell with Ainge. I'd rather bring back Justin Harrell or Turk McBride for this game anyway.

See Bold.

I absolutely believe Simms has the same potential, but that's just not a very high bar. I know for absolutely certain that Bray has more potential.

then it's just a matter of opinion on simms, you are entitled to it just as i am. i do think the recruiting battles over the two tell more of the story.

i happen to agree on bray, i posted in another thread here that if tyler hadn't been so dead set against redshirting that the pac 10 would have been camped on his porch. he has a bright future with a little maturity. again that's just my opinion.

really? The recruiting battles tell the story? We watched the guy play QB and watched our offense transition, poorly, to a bunch of hitches and receiver screens because the guy was the next coming of Peyton? I am telling you that Ainge was physically gifted, which is all it takes to be a big time QB recruit. He was nowhere close to the QB you've built him up to be.

I don't care what any recruiting battle ever looked like. Stephen Garcia was even more highly recruited. So?

if you want to believe that simms is going to be a better QB for UT than ainge was then it isn't my place to dissuade you. good luck.

If we are choosing who we would rather have, I'll take Simms and leave singe at home. My vote would be to have haynesworth and Henderson.

Ainge had Meachem for the Cal game in 06.

Simms has? Maybe a Justin Hunter or Da'Rick Rogers can fill that roll?

I have more faith in Simms going into this game then I did in Ainge going into the Cal game. As far as Ainge, he never lived up to his potential.

that we agree on, simms may turn out to be a much better QB than i think, i've certainly been wrong before.

Hopefully he will fumble the ball three times with TN recovering all three.

Not the most plausible outcome of LMJ carrying the ball.
Not sure if you ever watch Duck games, But if he breaks through or sneaks across the sides, rarely will anyone catch up to him ( at least not before he breaks off some good yardage ). And even better: A lot of the times he will pinball right through the whole line of scrimmage, sometimes out of unbelievable scrums.

Here's his highlights from last year. #1 against UCLA is by far the best example of his agility and acceleration.

I think this will be a great game, And must say
that the Vol fans here seem to generally be respectful.
I imagine you're much more insidious to your conf-rivals, as the PAC fans all seem to be towards each other.

Cheers to a Great Game, and no injuries on either side!
but GO DUCKS

The holes and defenders not in position for the play bother me more than the runs. Any back would look good coming off the edge with no defenders in position to make a tackle. Not to take away from him just mentioning what we need to focus on, being in position for the tackle. I'd rather him have 8 yards than 6 points.

Excellent choices, but I'd rather have Haynesworth & Henderson at tackle...Mayo and Wilson at linebacker, & EB back for this game! Just saying...

And you would be wise in your worries. It's no secret that assignment-football is the key to dealing with spread teams. Stanford did a spectacular job, tOSU, BSU.
If your young Oline and QB can do so, This could be a defensive or offensive shootout.

More often than not, LMJ yardage directly correlates to big offensive #'s for us. Certainly worried about your bigboy D though.

I'm worried about this guy once he gets to the edge but in between the tackles I like our size on the D-Line as an advantage.

However, UO's line is good so it's up to Hughes to take away some running lanes and get penetration. (That's what she said)
