I know about the investigation and us pushing them toward our last coach for when he was at UT but I was under the impression by some of the posts in this thread he did something in regard to the recruit that lied to us and then went to USC this year. I was wondering what that was?

I'm all for the NCAA nailing Kiffin and Orgeron but I'm also wondering what Orgeron could have done this time? Impermissible phone call the night before NSD? I hope he gets the maximum punishment but that just doesn't seem like it would be a lot.

Thanks Skeeter for the heads up though - should we be looking for some national news or new info coming from you?

Telling a recruit to lie to another coaching staff just to get the "shock" value on NSD is pretty frickin low down.

Coaches are suppose to be shaping these you men into adults with integrity and honesty. Teaching them to be honorable and forthright.

If Lamar knew he was going to go to USC, then he should have been a man about it and told the UT coaching staff as much. Instead, he followed the advise of two snakes and now he will reap the whirlwind

While I do agree with you now, most on here (with my head down, I have to admit I was one of them) didn't think it was all that bad when he had a couple of our recruits pull this stunt(notice how their character flaws have been exposed since that time). After seeing how it turned out for us, I think it shows as much about the character of said recruit as much as it does the coach asking them to do it. Also, on the other side of this is the oversigning problem now in the limelight. Schools offer too many and end up pulling the rug out from under some of them at the end. Until some new rules are put into place, both of these situations will become more and more of an issue.

Whether they can or not, I doubt their would be many defectors IMO. USC WILL bring in a very solid coach to take his place IF he is canned.

ehhh can we all move forward.

when Ed-O was a Vol he was our piece of s**t and we, the people, loved him. Nothing has changed with him or the Kiffins. they were this way before we hired them and the same after they moved on.

its a tad bit hypocritical... isnt it?

i don't think so. Yes most knew what we were getting but I would like to see him burn because of the way he exited UT. He'll have a job pretty quick anyway but probably won't be allowed to bring Lane along

and I was excited to have him at UT but also realized there could be trouble following
