Lady Vols with a 2 game lead in the SEC race

LSU takes out KY 77-72 and Vandy just topped A&M 61-51. Lady Vols guaranteed at least a share of the SEC regular season title and winning one of the next two would give it to them outright.

The next two games carry some interesting implications. Win against A&M and the SEC regular season title is theirs. Win both and, imo, they have pretty much locked up a 2-seed in the NCAA tournament.

If they need anything to fire them up, that ought to do it!

Good day!

Thought for a while it was going to be a Missouri repeat, however, because we started out playing the same way, and throughout the first half we looked as if we were not into the game, but came out in the 2nd and began playing.

Kept up with LSU & Ky on internet, which was nerve-wracking, and then watched Vandy-A&M.

Now our Lady Vols just need to finish it. Good to see Izzy back. Will really help from now on out.

A & M will be very physical, as will Ky. I hope out Lady Vols will be prepared to play tough and not get pushed around.

It would be nice to win the last two games so no one can say we backed into anything. Beat the best teams head up... that is how we want to win. I will be very impressed if we can pull it off because there is not the talent gap there has been in years past. Recruits should be impressed as well if we can turn that trick.

I thought LSU might win but the Vandy game surprises me. Was that A&M's first trip to that godawful arena? I can see it taking some getting used to.

And yeah, this game had MO part deux written all over it in the first half. But maybe they learned something from that one.

Izzy will be a while rounding back into form but it is good she is already getting minutes.

I think that this will take a lot of pressure off the girls. They can come out and simply play ball, and have fun with it. They should also move back up into the top ten, but both TAMU & UK will come out with a vengeance! If we win both, there's a good shot at a #2 seed. If they can will the regular season outright, and the SEC Tourney they should be a lock as a #2 seed! This may just be the strike that lights the fire under them....hopefully!

The LVs probably will continue to concentrate on one game at a time. The LVs need to defeat the Aggies for sole possession of the SEC title on Thursday night. Hopefully the Aggies are their main focus now.

to beat because it is very hard to score any baskets inside against her. That means that you have to shoot well from 10 feet and out--which is hardly insurmountable for a good team, and let's not forget that we like to run, and so can get baskets that way. But the Vols sadly seem to choke every time we play Baylor: in our last three losses to that team, we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn; our shooting is TERRIBLE. I think we've averaged about 30 percent shooting in those games, if that. Shooting against ND was also bad. The perimeter players have to play well--and our guards simply have not played well against the top teams.

We need to wrap this all up versus Texas A&M at home. We don't want to lose that game and have to beat Kentucky there. As far as NCAA seed 2 and 3 are about the same as they play each other if both advance.

I feel like we can beat any team there except for Baylor as long as we are playing well.
