It’s all on CKW. You can’t expect KP to be perfect all game long. CKW gets paid and paid handsomely to make IN GAME DECISIONS. She didn’t and we paid for her inadequacy.Blame Karen all you want, but this one was on KP. As awesome as she is, she went to a full count on the lead off batters in the 2nd and 3rd innings and walked the lead off batters in the 4th, 5th and 7th.
After walking the leadoff (number seven hitter) in the 7th, I wondered if this was the one that was going to bite her. Extremely hard to beat great competition when you give them three lead off walks.
Hopefully, they'll bounce back tonight.
GBO!
I doubt you paid anything in. It's easy to go back and say you would have done something differently. Personally, I don't find fault with Karen going with her players ability. She has their back. It’s all on CKW. You can’t expect KP to be perfect all game long. CKW gets paid and paid handsomely to make IN GAME DECISIONS. She didn’t and we paid for her inadequacy.
It's not just the leadoff walk in the 7th. A leadoff walk won't necessarily cost you a game. But 3 of them is a hell of a lot more likely to.As easy as it is to blame KP for the walk in the 7th, the offense didn’t do their job of securing runs throughout the game.
Pickens did enough to win the game. The bats could have put the game away with bases loaded and one out. It's not just the leadoff walk in the 7th. A leadoff walk won't necessarily cost you a game. But 3 of them is a hell of a lot more likely to.
CKW should've sent the runner home and she missed challenging the calm at first. Should she have walked the bases loaded to face the freshman? Maybe. How many of y'all expected us to score 6-8 runs vs OK pitching? That would be unreasonable, right?
But who would've expected our All American - National Pitcher of the Year, with a sub 1.00 ERA to not get get their All American out?
I don't necessarily like blaming players (less since they're getting paid now), but I don't understand the blaming the coach when the All American gave up 3 leadoff walks...and the last one as she faced 7, 8 & 9 and could've avoided the top of the order.
Left 7 runners on base and still up in the 7th. Pickens did her job to win the game up until the final pitch. It's not just the leadoff walk in the 7th. A leadoff walk won't necessarily cost you a game. But 3 of them is a hell of a lot more likely to.

There’s more layers to his success on the field than just saying recruiting and talent on the field. She’s not benefitting from programs on probation and lack of investment into infrastructure. My point was if Fulmer had been a better coach he would probably had a better winning percentage, another natty, etc. He got by on his recruiting and talent on the field. That was why I compared Karen to him.
you were quite vocal in the loss yesterday, but haven’t said anything about the huge win today. maybe that’s why. IDK tho?Man has this taken a turn. I came from a loving family too. My mom and dad were and are still the best.
I am a fan unconditionally but I do call a spade a spade. I do think CKW has done a good/great job but could also make better in game decisions in big games. I love the Vols and will always love the Vols. I don’t really understand the comment that I’m not a fan but regardless of your opinion I hope you have a great rest of your day and a great weekend.
