Congrats to the Lady Vols. I'm interested to see how well they can reload after losing 5 starters from this team.

Yeah, they've definitely got a lot of holes to fill. Hopefully this incoming class lives up to their star rankings.

Congrats ladies!!

Nobody ever said you could get rich playing in the WNBA. I'd bet that endorsement deals will soften the blow a little.
And if that doesn't work, she can borrow money from either her Pro basketball playing brother or her brain surgeon brother.

First of all, I was surprised to see Stanford make it that far.But I was pretty sure that there wasn't a chance for Stanford against the Lady Vols. I just knew Candace Parker would be everywhere.

Welcome to Volnation BrendanJ. My sons name is Brendan. I agree with you, I felt very confident that the lady Vols would bring home the title. Your avatar makes me miss Stallworth and I hope we have some guys catching balls this year that have his abilities.

you seriously believe Parker manned up more than anyone, ever? that's probably a ginormous stretch.

I believe Parker is the best woman I have evr seen play the game, but I liked her a lot better before the overdone "you can't hold me" shenanigans.

more than anyone i've seen, or heard of. if you know of one that matches or exceeds, i'd love to hear about it.

i've never seen or heard of a player in any sport coming back into the game after a de novo shoulder dislocation. dislocated finger, yes, but not a shoulder.

let's see. Emmitt Smith played the 2nd half against the giants with dislocated shoulder. I don't know if you know much about Emmitt, but he played in the NFL.

Curt Schilling pitched a WS game with his ankle stapled together.

Isaiah Thomas basically won an NBA playoff game on one leg.

FYP. I still don't know what to make of that situation.

regardless, Jillions of players have played while hurt as badly as Parker, especially in football. Those were just the 3 off the top of my head who manned up as much as Parker. You might be right about Mr. Blowhard.

players have played with severe injuries, but I have to admit I don't actually know of any athlete who dislocated their shoulder twice in the same game and kept playing. That was pretty remarkable.
