It's also the first substantial break the team has had between games since the season started. How the offense improves against a zone and how the defense improves overall after a week of practice will be telling.

It's been 4 games is part of it. Plus I am not sure she fully trusts the others yet as PG's. After yesterday I am sure Holly talked to Reynolds. You are being a bit dramatic in my opinion, TN will never be ODU or La Tech. Holly may also feel that JR is her only true PG and expects her to step up. If JR does not she will not start, I would bet on it

I certainly do not. I saw her in the state tournament the last two years and she was at best average in class AA. The inside players for Westview wore her out and neither one of them are D1 material. Outside of being tall I saw no skill that translated to major college ball. I am sure she is a great student and a wonderful person so my thoughts are just about her as a player and not meant to be disrespectful.

We just don't have very good guards. I really don't know why this team struggle to play hard. They don't play with no intensity. Maybe it's just the personnel on this team. We will see what kind of intensity the freshman play with next year.

Was Reynolds a PG in high school? I don't follow high school or recruiting so don't know. Regardless, to my untrained eye, Jordan has exhibited little if any PG instincts. It's been a 3 year mystery to me why Holly wants her at point.

At this point of JR's career everyone knows what she is capable of - 5.5 points and 2.4 assists per game. Yeah.

I'd be tempted to roll the dice and play Middleton and Jackson at PG from here on out.

I agree with you. Hoopgurlz has both Middleton and JR listed as guards, but according to her eval. JR spent a lot of time at PG. Hoopgurlz describes Middleton as a combo guard.

Hey, why don't we have a recruiting thread, just a suggestion, I mean we do have the number one class next year. Maybe we could have a thread that isn't bashing Holly, or players, and just about recruiting, of course some people would have to have enough self control to go to the ***** about Holly and hate on Lady Vol threads, but it would be fun to follow!

She's a PG? Will Cooper (2 years) and Hayes (3 years) cause any issues? Ideally Westbrook would likely be a 3 year starter at the 2 position, so is she (and I guess her teammate Balogun) willing to wait until their JR/SR seasons to be starters... unless they project to be better.

This is going to be a great class! All of them from what I have seen, heard, and read have that killer instinct and I feel that's what we have been missing in previous classes. Add them to Green & MeMe for 2 seasons and Te'a for 3, and I think they get us to at least 1 final four and hopefully 1 title. (I'm being optimistic!)

Right now I'm thinking three of them should start next season along with Russell and Deshields. Regardless we'll have a lot better backups with KK, Green, Cooper, Middleton, and Dunbar all available. Hopefully Holly will let the best players start regardless if their freshmen. I don't see any of the players coming back other than Deshields and Russell that has a chance of keeping them from paying huge minutes.

I would recommend retiring this thread now that it has passed 1 million views.

Start a new one for 2018 that would remain focused on just recruiting.

And of course - a dedicated ANGRY thread for those who are both experts on basketball and negative toward the coach and the players who don't play with passion.

and please a thread for fans who are for our LV team in good and bad who just enjoy sharing with fellow fans. We know their strengths and weaknesses in numbers of players, in athletic ability, and there will be days where the ball didn't fall.

I would bring all 4 of them off the bench on the second unit and let all 4 of them play together in the early part of the season.

My starters for next season would be;

PG-Te'a
SG-Diamond
SF-Nared
PF-Green
C-Russell

At around the 5 minute mark of the first half (early part of season before I establish rotations) I would sub in;

PG-Westbrook
SG-Hayes
SF-Jackson
PF-Davis (Stretch 4)
C-KK

Middleton, Dunbar, and Harris would be used as specialist

3pt shooting for Middleton and Dunbar and Rebounding and Blocked shots for Harris

In their sophomore seasons all 4 would start with Te'a, I know Davis is undersize at the 4 spot but with her scoring ability (anywhere on the floor) and with Holly wanting to dump it in the post (to KK) she would be perfect at the high post!
