Lady Vols Recruiting Info

It will be interesting to see where she goes

Well I hope that she chooses Tennessee. After all the Maya Dodson post's in the last two years on here and The Summitt about how she liked Tennessee and all. It would be a letdown for sure if she didn't become a Lady Vol.

I think if we get Patterson it is a great class. I guess McKinney is on hold to see what Westbrooks does. To me the final class looks like KK, Hayes, McKinney, hopefully Patterson. I don't know what the deal is with the big JC center thought she could play this season if signed. If that is true think it would be great to sign her would give us four post players and enough people overall to have a scrimmage.

She will probably still be apart of this class but just plays next season, they are probably seeing if they add Patterson or Williams first (they would have 4 years of eligibility instead of 3) they also haven't seen the Juco play a collegiate game yet so they (like many of the other schools that are probably interested in the JUCO post) can wait and then pursue her harder around March and get a late commit (like they did with Harris) after they see what she can do!

If we sign Patterson (or Williams), I'd think the coaching staff would instead focus on signing an elite post in 2018. We seem to be in on some of the top post prospects (HG #1 Nelson-Ododa, #4 Smith, #7 Collier, #20 Dixon). Even if we weren't able to sign one of those players, we'd still be set with a deeper post rotation than we had last season or for the upcoming season, with KK, Green, Harris, and potentially Patterson.

If Patterson falls through, then maybe it makes more sense to go after Fatou Diagne.

Patterson is NOT a (5) POST player! Her skills set of facing the basket (triple threat position) for you coaches out there, would be wasted at the (5) position! Can she play the (5) absolutely! So could DD and Nared but not a good idea.🤔

A face-up 4 is still technically part of the post rotation. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen her referred to as a wing, unlike, say, Dodson.

From what I have seen, Patterson has played the 4 in AAU and 5 in high school. At 6'4 in high school, the coach has to put you there when you don't have the luxury as AAU to go and get what players you want for your positions. She can consistently hit the 15 footer. And has range to shoot the three.

I like The idea of Diagne ! She will have two years of college (maturity) with three years of eligibility. Not an 18 year old with high school experience. If the coach see that she can play then let's go after her.

That puts her in 2017?!? (Junior with 3 years)
KK with (4 years)
Harris with (sophomore 3 years)
Green with (junior and 2 years)
Mercedes with (senior 1 year?)

If Mercedes leaves ??? OK
You still have at least 3 bigs for two years and our Georgia connection coming (Ododa) 2018. You can pound the ball inside as long as you have more than one person to throw to!!! That is why everyone zones us!!!! ONE big on the inside and no scoring from the outside!🤔

I agree Travis.... saw her in Nashville AAU and she was outside with the guards/wings ! I guess it was their offense? She can shoot the three but leathel from ten feet and in... get too close on defense and she can take it to the rim!👌

I don't think Tennessee recruited her hard, but Dorie Harrison is headed to Kentucky. I'm shocked because I thought she was for sure going to Vanderbilt.

I really don't think they recruited her that much. She has really fell in the polls.

I agree. You never really heard anything about her being associated with Tennessee. I just hope she doesn't develop into the player Izzy was and do to us what Izzy did to UK every season. She gave them pure hell especially in that SEC Championship where they had to foul her to stop the damage she was doing in the post.

If we went hard after Dorie, IMO that would have been settling. No disrespect to her, but that's how I see it.

I agree the fact that she ended at UK says a lot to me, it tells me that Carolyn Peck, Joy Cheek, and Stephanie White (Vandy Coaches) didn't think she was as good as advertised either. UK's Post rarely get touches, they have always been a guard heavy team where their post are expected to play great defense and rebound.
