Lady Vols Recruiting Info

I thought Tennessee was Danielle Patterson's last visit? According to Twitter, she will take an official visit to Notre Dame on October 29. So, Notre Dame will be her last visit.

That is correct. She will be taking her official visit to Notre Dame on Oct 29th and 30th. That will be her last school visit. Family looking to make decision and sign during early signing period.

TN is still in play for all of there top 6 recruits they are after, with Evans announcement, coming early next week. Westbrook, Patterson, Dodson, KK, and Hayes are all still in play. I wouldn't be surprised, if Hayes didn't commit this weekend. All the other recruits will be in holding mode, until the above dominoes fall. I really like Evans game, seal the deal TN!! Finally, if all 6 of them, want to commit to TN (which I truly believe) you take them all in a heart beat. Worry about 2018 next year!!

I like Evans game a lot also, but I hope we weren't to late in recruiting her. I think Louisville got on her early.

I think she decides to come play at Tennessee! Imo it is too much playing time to pass up and the fact that Asia Durr is there (also she will be a junior if Evans sign there) and they also received a verbal from Lindsay Duvall to go with the 2 PG's they signed in this class, I think we are going to be too much to pass up. I think McKinney and Hayes (along with her sisters) are kind of a package deal and if its true that her parents are looking to relocate wherever they (Hayes) goes means they are likely to end up at Ole Miss (who's famous for extra benefits) I think Walker chooses ND (Uconn has a lot talent already ahead of her at the position she plays where as she would start right away at Texas or ND), I also think Westbrook will choose to play with Walker at ND to give the the #1 & #2 overall recruit. With talks of this being Vanderveer's last year and ND getting both Walker and Westbrook Dodson will come to Tennessee and KK will join her because she secretly wants to play with Dodson in college, Patterson (after learning of the Walker and Westbrook verbals) will cancel her visit to ND and verbally commit (and sign during the early signing period with us as Candace Parker will be working out with the team when Patterson comes to Knoxville on her official visit), Onyenwere will choose us based on the other girls verballing before her. Ursin will have a strong senior season (she refused to play on the AAU circuit which may have scared some schools away) and Holly will pursue her hard because of the uncertainly of the guards in 2018 and although originally only wanting 4 or 5 we end up with 6 players & the 2nd best recruiting class and Lady Vol basketball will be back!

Recap of our verbals/future lady vols:
PG-Evans
G/F-Dodson
C-KK
F-Patterson
G/F-Onyenwere
G-Ursin

They will commit in this order and a huge thanks will go to Holly and Coach Reeves and we will be in a great position in 2018 because of the success of this class as freshman and Diamond, Mercedes, & Nared as seniors to go with Te'a, Green, MeMe, Middleton & our Shot Blocking Phenom Harris! I am keeping the faith!

It is common knowledge that wherever Hayes goes, the family is going to move there. They then will need housing, jobs, school and bball support for the younger girls.

So moving to Miss will still allow them to play with their summer program Flight. Flight's skills development coach is Alex Simmons husband. So, that leaves housing and jobs......you think anyone around Oxford could help with that?

to her college town/city is a little weird. Going to college is about getting away from family and being independent and learning to be an adult. THAT's what makes it the best four years of your life (for me, five!). For her college will just be an extension of high school, I'm afraid.

A lot of kids think attending their home state public university is just four more years of high school because every time they turn around they see another familiar face from their high school classes. But the reality is that a lot of kids choose to attend school in-state because it is so cheap. The cost of attending a selective/elite private school is about $65K/year. Many kids stay close to home (and mom and dad) by default.

and, that has what to do about recruits who don't play a dime for school, how? furthermore, but maybe because I had to searched them out, or else might never run in to a fellow school alumni after the first session, I might not know who they are. Most play AAU summer ball. Those court relationships, have proven to be the lasting ties

Well the football Vols came back strong and won the game against the number one defense in the nation. So the visitors really got the see crowd support and a marvelous Tennessee win.

We couldn't have asked for a better recruiting tool than the one the football team gave us yesterday.

If they can turn it up like that, so can our girls.

ChitownVol: I apologize if my wording was ambiguous or confusing. I was commenting on Armchair's post that college is a time to get away from high school friends and family and try something/somewhere new as a way to grow and mature. The reason I brought up college costs is that many high school kids (but not WCBB players obviously) are forced to stay close to home because of fiscal constraints. In-state tuition is a bargain all across the country so many high school kids do not have the option of going away from home. Athletes on scholarship do not have to worry about college costs so they can play anywhere in the country. I was agreeing with Armchair that student athletes should take advantage of the independence and growth opportunities available to those who choose to leave the nest. Sorry for the confusion.
