Lady Vols Recruiting Info

I didn't say that.

When you need posts, and the top three Posts in the country want to visit, you bring them in. However, we never lead for Cox nor Holmes, and Holly knew this. Kyra thought we had a chance. Had we offered McCoy's sister, she would be here. We didn't, and she went to Ohio State. That isn't Kyra's fault that Holly wouldn't play the game, not is it her fault that she wanted the opportunity to change either Cox or Holmes' minds about coming to Tennessee. We went after McCune hard until last summer when her stock plummeted, and everyone stopped recruiting her. Had we stayed on her, she would've come to Tennessee.

Kyra is where she wants to be. Can't fault her in that either.

I have heard that recruits, and parents, love Coach Reeves. We are using all of our allotted visits. I can't remember the last time Tennessee did that.

Thanks for the Clarity! Would be interesting to see if we made a mistake on McCune since she ended up where Reeves came from (West Virginia)! I like Reeves also and have heard great things about her!

Is Harrison really interested or because of her sisters being Alumnae (and I'm assuming she has visited several times) there is no need for a visit!

She likes Vandy a lot, and she has family who went there as well. Izzy also liked Vandy, but Izzy wanted to play for Pat. Dorie doesn't have that luxury.

And she has strong ties to Vanderbilt. Her brother played basketball at Vanderbilt and her father played football at Vanderbilt and I think was a coach there also so don't be too shocked it Dorie goes with the Dores and the new coaching staff.

It'll be her lost!

A 3 Star living in Kentucky! Makes since😜

Plus she is a 2018 graduate who can change her mind?🤔

She's not really a 3-star. Right now on Hoopgurlz, anyone ranked 26th or higher in the 2018 class is automatically given only 3 stars (and they only rank the top 25 players so far). Presently they have 15 5-star players and only 10 4-star players. I trust that there are more than 10 4-stars in the 2018 class. Prospects Nation has ranked the top 60 in the 2018 class and has Blair Green as a 4-star (42nd). Green is a pretty good player and her commitment to the Wildcats is a good sign for them, given the problems they've been having.

I totally agree that it is coaching that has prevented Alexa and Te'a (and Ariel before them) from reaching their potential. Holly's poor recruiting and inability to recruit a skilled SG (they knew what they were getting into with Tucker) forced Ariel to play off the ball far more than she should have. They have no idea what to do with Alexa, and they have yet to be able to harness Te'a and to improve her court IQ and play under control.

This season, Holly will have mediocre Jordan Reynolds, head case Alexa Middleton, and unproven MeMe Jackson as her guard rotation. It will not be pretty.

What did they get into with Tucker? And where did she go?

They knew that she was coming off a serious injury and missed her senior year, and that she had a very difficult personal situation with the boyfriend. On paper, she was a good recruit, but coming in they should have known that there was a strong chance that she wouldn't be the player she was when recruited. It would have been insanity to think that she would be able to be a suitable replacement/ backup for Simmons when she graduated with all of the setbacks she had.

They needed to pick up an elite shooting guard with range in one of the last 2 classes, and they got MeMe Jackson instead. This forced Ariel to play off the ball and away from her strengths as a playmaker.

Tucker transferred somewhere after her sophomore year. I don't think she's played yet, and I doubt she will be the player that people expected her to be before her injury.

Dana Evans visiting next weekend now. She wants to see Knoxville, and we are her last visit.

She is visiting with Dodson, KK, & Westbrook. It would be huge to get all four of them to Knoxville.

Yes it would! My question is if we get all 4 of them we probably wont land Patterson & Hayes right? I want Dodson, Patterson, KK for sure

Tucker committed before she tore her ACL.

I know that. It was how her injury did or did not impact recruiting once they knew she was injured, and then after the whole assault ordeal. By the time she arrived on campus, they should have known that she was a shadow of her former self.

We need to get some players in November can't go to Spring like last season it never works out well. I think we want four maybe five players to go with Green. If we can get a point guard a couple of wings and another post will be a great class.

I would think you might get a commit out of Evans since it is her last visit? (Does anyone think that would scare Hayes off) But the other ladies have free trips left and if I was a kid again.... I would want to enjoy them!!!

I just hope Maya and Westbrook don't get too close on their visit to Notre Dame. and KK and Westbrook on their trip to South Carolina! You know these kids do talk to each other and with the newer Technology of today....they text, tweet, facebook, facetime etc.:eek:lol:

I still think Megan Walker is the key and when does she commit? If she goes to UConn instead of Notre Dame! That makes Notre Dame in play for some ladies that we want! (Five of our ladies list Notre Dame?) My worst night mare would be:

Westbrook stays out West
Maya......Notre Dame
KK ......Georgia
Patterson to Notre Dame
Hayes to Kentucky

AND HERE WE GO AGAIN:thud:

I told all of Vol Nation in my first post, how important, Saturdays visits, on the 17th were. Now, Evans, is joining Westbrook, Dodson and KK WOW!!! This weekend will define our recruiting class. Coaching staff, you must close the deal on 2 out the 4. If they all leave without committing we are in trouble. Evans is TN's to loose. You better believe, Westbrook has talked with her Oregonian friends, and Russell about her staying, her fifth year to play with her. Dodson and KK come in tandem, because TN is the only school, they would like to attend and play together. Does everyone see where this is headed!!! With a great closure we get all four of them, period!! Hayes will not shy away from playing with Evans, and Cooper, what a 3 headed monster that would be!! (The young ladies do communicate on the AAU circuit) I think she would love it, and accept the challenge, of winning an NC, in her home town. Patterson is the final peace to this big puzzle, when she comes to visit on Sweetest Day Weekend in October. She will leave by saying how sweet it is to be a lady Vol and follow behind her idol Candace Parker. The coaching staff is focused on the 2017 athletic guards and wings. 2018 class is dominated by Bigs. We sign 6 in this class of 2017, only if the above players mentioned all want to become lady vols. If not, we do have, a not so exciting (by ratings) contingent plan, that consist of any combinations of J. Williams, L. Williams, Davis, Jackson, Onyenwere, McKinney or Harrison. We would sign the most athletic players out of the bunch, who would be able to play multiple positions on the court, sign maybe 4, then concentrate on the talented bigs from 2018. Remember, you heard it here first!!

I'm excited about Evans visiting next weekend, but Louisville will go the extra mile to sign her if they really want her. I remember how the 2013 recruiting battle for Russell was with them. They offered one of Russell's close friends to try to influence her decision. Well the friend verbaled to Louisville first, but Russell later committed to Tennessee. After that, Jeff Walz pulled the offer from Russell's friend and the young lady had to go elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if they are telling Evans everything she wants to hear, probably why not to go to Tennessee and pressuring her to commit to Louisville. They can't be happy with her visiting Tennessee next weekend with her last official visit.

If we land all 6 of them the program will seriously be back on top and to have Diamond and Russell both return for their 5th year of eligibility and cooper returning from a year sitting out with Green we would be the favorites to possibly win the next 2 to 4 titles imo starting in 2018 and our program will be back on top! Get it done Holly and Coach Reeves we are begging you!

Only if they'll all buy into being team first players. If they play unselfishly and for the name across the front of the chest, instead of the back, we could possibly make some noise for sure. As long as these young ladies come in hungry, and ready to work hard to get better every year. We need ladies who are hardworking and ready to step up and make some damn layups and open shots!!! It'll be great if we can get all 6 of them for sure, but it's highly unlikely...unless Reeves is a superstar in the making amongst the recruiting circle! Lol
