Lady Vols Recruiting Info

Winning games against the likes of Stanford, Notre Dame, and Baylor will help in recruiting. We gotta have a better top 10 record. We have to win big games, once we start winning Marquee matchups, recruits will be lining up again.

I was sure Hayes likes Ole Miss quite a lot she has been down there many many times. Also AAU ties to the coach down there. I think we still have a solid chance with her will all depend on her visit.
In the end we need a couple post players, a point guard, and a couple other solid wing players. The posts could be KK and Harrison that would be awesome. That would bring us back with Russell, Green, Harris, KK, and Harrison which is a very solid group.

for a while. Warlick has had three chances to get to the final four.

Spoke with my good friend Lamont Patterson yesterday after Danielle Patterson's Unofficial Visit to St. Johns yesterday. He said the visit was excellent. They have visited both St. Johns and Virginia and are impressed with both schools. They are also impressed with ND and Tenn. No decisions will be made until the two official visits with ND Tenn take place. Appears Danielle will have a very difficult decision. She likes all 4-schools and their perspective coaches. There are no leaders right now.

I know it will be a tough decision but I believe we are the favorites based on her admiration for one of the greatest Lady Vols (Candace Parker). I hope CP just happens to be on campus when Ms. Patterson comes to Knoxville. (I am joking but so serious). If Geno (or someone at UConn) can arrange visits to ESPN (yeah he doesn't do that and his former players aren't on campus when recruits come to visit according to the Huskie faithful) We need to utilize our resources. She (Ms. Patterson) retweets any and everything Candace post or that is posted of Candace she also has a picture of Candace as her Header image! Get it done coach Reeves/Holly

I like your thinking me personally I would like our guards to be Evans and Ursin (Only because I think Hayes likes Ole Miss far too much and she has 3 little sisters who just might end up being better than her and I'm sure we could be able to grab one of them in the future).

I would also love Dodson (a 6'2/6"3 wing) I think she will be everything we wanted Shekinna Stricklen to be before we had to play her at the PG position. (I like Westbrook as well but those extra inches are too hard to pass up and Dodson also has some dog/killer instinct in her).

At the Post I Like KK and Patterson (I would love Harrison but I believe she Honors her dad and be the only daughter of his to attend his Alma Mater and Play for Stephanie White and Carolyn Peck at Vandy) I also am not too worried about loading up on 4/5 players because I think there is still a lot of talent in the 2018 and 2019 classes as well as Greene having a year to learn the system and I think Harris will only show what she can do (even if she is just an Anchor for us Defensively in the like of Kiah Stokes when she was at UConn)

Recap:
Wishful 2017 Class (Certainly will be a top 5 class imo)
Evans (G) 5'6", Ursin (G) 5'7", Dodson (Wing) 6'2", Patterson (PF) 6'3", KK (C) 6'4".

I only went with 5 because I factored in Green who is sitting out this year recovering from her ACL injury who will have 2 years of eligibility left and Te'a who will sit out this year and still have 3 years of eligibility left. Also with these additions our 2017/2018 season team would be scary (Possibly favored to win it all if both Diamond and Russell return).

The Roster would be;
Cooper (G) RS Sophomore 5'8"
Middleton (G) Senior 5'9
Evans (G) Freshman 5'6"
Ursin (G) Freshman 5'7"
Jackson (G/F) Junior 5'11"
DeShields (G) RS Senior 6'1"
Dunbar (F) Senior 6'2"
Nared (G/F) Senior 6'2"
Green (F) RS Junior 6'3"
Patterson (F) Freshman 6'3"
Dodson (G/F) Freshman 6'2"
KK (C) Freshman 6'4"
Russell (C) RS Senior 6'6"
Harris (C) Sophomore 6'3"

Holly would have no excuses if she was to land the above mentioned recruiting class with a healthy Green/Cooper and the return of Diamond/Russell. She would also lose 5 seniors and could still bring in 4/5 for the 2018 recruiting class (although I am an advocate of saving atleast 1 scholarship because you never know who might decide to transfer from another program to yours or what recruit who verbally may reopen their commitment due to the firing of a coach or etc.)

RE: Patterson/Parker

It is well known that former lady vols come back and practice with the team a couple times throughout the basketball season. Patterson will be guaranteed to play with/against Parker if Patterson comes to Tennessee. This past year we had Parker, Johnson, Catchings, and Harrison a couple times.

Ps- My dream recruits for this class is anybody :)

I kind of feel the same way, Holly please don't strike out and only have Harris & Green and Nunn (both Transfers) to show for it (not that I am not appreciative of Harris but I think we could've added more than just her as our only freshman recruit)

It will happen, when the "rider learns how to handle the horses"... These girls know how to play, but they have to be let out, not reined in.

The environment that the Pistol girls are coming from is one of enabling them to use their advanced skills. ((No-looks, hard-post-feeds, and setup steps for jumpers)). Unfortunately, most coaches see this as showboating.

I have always told my girls, "It ain't showing off if it is something you practice consistently and if it is a valid part of your normal game".

Ain't no fortune teller, but hopefully sooner rather than later. Now, an Alpha athlete can get it done, like Diggins did for Notre Dame, and it changed their whole program (replaced us, they now get our recruits) with her play and her HUGE wins in games that mattered.

Now, we have to believe we can beat those team, teams now have the psychological edge over us, that we once had over them for year.

Welp, let's see if we have a National Player of Year in Diamond, and or players in Diamond and Russell if those two come ready to play every night, I mean there were the two best players in that class.

Hmmmmm interesting....I have a feeling Patterson is headed to ND....of course these are just rumors and hearsay but from my understanding, she's ND's to lose at this point.

What huge wins did she have in games that mattered? I seem to remember her choking every time a title was on the line.

All the games against UConn, including a couple that decided the regular season/tournament BE champs and a FF game. And the beatdown of Tennessee in the E8 that began their string of FF games.

So then every WCBB team other than UConn has been a failure since 2009 except for Baylor and TAMU one year each?

If you consider Notre Dame a failure for their string of NC and FF appearances, as well as Big East titles beating a loaded UConn team, I'd hate to hear your assessment of Tennessee during that same span.

I think that quote from Candace Parker was specifically about Tennessee. And it didn't really seem like an insult.. it just speaks to the high standards of success that Tennessee has. Few schools can make that claim and actually have ground to stand on.

I can only name two: Tennessee and UCONN.

I agree with the fact that both teams have high standards. At the same time, discounting the achievements of a player like Skylar Diggins, who has won a lot in her collegiate career even if she didn't get the grand prize, is ridiculous.
