Lady Vols Recruiting Info

Can you list the 17 players or you can't provide that info?

I think the list the poster is referring to is listed on The Summitt and if so it won't be listed on this forum. The Summitt is a subscriber site and is policed very well with strict rules regarding sharing premium information. That's the only thing I miss about my subscription was the inside coverage and recruiting information.

For some reason I feel more confident landing Maya Dodson than KK. Some Georgia fans feel like they have a really good chance of signing Coombs, Newby and KK. They have no clue about Dodson though. If we can sign Dorie Harrison and another post player, whether it be Sidney Cooks, Eleah Parker, Raven Farley or KK to go with Green, I'll be happy. I agree we need both Danielle and Chasity Patterson. I hope we get Dodson too. I think Tennessee is recruiting another wing out of Colorado and she is very good also. The net is wide for this class. We need to sign a top 3 class for 2017.

There is enough talent in the 2017 & 2018 classes for a number of teams to load up on talent in my opinion. So many players in the 2017 class are still unsigned & the best players don't appear to be running to UConn like in previous years. There should be 6-8 very good teams the next few years.

I can guarantee we will beat miss state next year. we were beating them at there place. and folded i am expecting an different team for us

Vanderbilt women's coach search narrowed to three finalists

White, Ivy, and Banghart.

White is the most intriguing because I'm not familiar at all on the women's side of pro's going to college? I know she has been an assisted coach at a couple places, but she did her best work with Lynn Dunn, and they had a great relationship. Ivy is an amazing recruiter, and Banghart knows the inside and out of basketball like a pro, tremendous coach. Seriously tough choice!! Ivy can recruit, but can she coach? White and Banghart have proven they can coach.

I have been a little lax lately in updating the original post in this thread, in part because of work and in part because, with some few exceptions, not a whole lot has been going on until just recently.

I updated the first post. Let me explain my reasoning. I only list recruits when I can verify that there is either an offer from Tennessee on the table or that there is, at least, interest on the part of the staff. I also attempt to verify if the interest is mutual. In my opinion, it is unreasonable to list a "recruit" if the player has absolutely no interest in attending Tennessee. So, despite the fact that the Tennessee staff would probably love to have Meghan Walker, the fact that she has trimmed her list of schools to four and Tennessee is not in the list eliminates her as a "recruit".

I do not claim that this list is 100% accurate. There are others who have better sources than I do. There may be one or two others who the Tennessee staff is considering and who have interest in Tennessee, and, in fact, there are one or two others that I have heard snippets of info about, but I have not gotten what I consider confirmation and therefore have not listed them.

I hope everyone still finds this info interesting and, as always, I welcome and appreciate input from those with knowledge.

Jim

Since Corsaro dropped us are we done for this year or are we still working on someone?

I know that one poster says that Corsaro had her mind set on a particular school when she decommitted from Kentucky, but, as recently as eight days ago the family released a statement saying that she was considering seven schools (of which Tennessee was one) and that she expected to make a decision by the first week in June. There has been nothing, at least that I can find, released since then, so I think it may be premature to say she has dropped Tennessee.

It may be that she has, but I prefer to wait until the proverbial "fat lady" sings before I give up hope.

And, what has happened with regard to the Turkish point guard, Elif Portakal, that has been mentioned? Is she no longer under consideration?

I believe that they were referring to the other UK decommit, Scott, about having a school in mind.

Saban? really? geez with the mess from UT's last three coaches not including raping a LADY VOL!... Oh well, you lost all credibility with that comment! Unless you all forgot, the rape victim is a yet unnamed Lady Vol, I hate to speculate on whom it might be but who transferred last year?

No idea what that has to do with Saban "playing to the echo of the whistle" when it comes to recruiting.

If you were at Kentucky and you chose that area for a reason, then UT makes an easy choice...Home's just 2-1/2 hours further. . . You leave a program that was in the elite (And crumbled), and join a program that has these same goals. (And the feasibility of obtaining those goal).
