Lady Vols Recruiting Info

I love Nared she will become a force she needs to learn control and don't diversity... And yes "Pretty girls wear 20 pearls" wink wink lol

Nared isn't misused....she's perfect at the wing. Nared has to learn how to pass the ball when she drives. She has the quickness to get by other wing players, she just drives into the lane uncontrollably a lot of times hoping for a foul, instead of kicking it to an open team mate. Once she learns when she has the opportunity to score...score, but when it's not there, to learn to kick it back out. I saw this tooooo many times last year.

+++++++++++++

Nared reminds me of a set of sisters I had in Atlanta. "pretty poison" both tall and absolutely cover-girl beautiful. But phenomenal warriors on the court. . . The kind of girl that would fight you, beat you up, help you back up, dust you off and then reach for their hairbrush and makeup.

That's the beauty of coaching girls. With boys you get cookie-cutter athletes. All dominant, all physically sculpted specimens, all with the "I'll show you" mentality... You rarely see an out of shape (By athletic standards) boy on a court.... But with girls, a 4'11" skinny player can be just as important 6'2" Bohemith. Case in point, the team picture I posted. Bria (who could drive through a train, plays BB at a very small college, yet Savannah (6'2" and quite striking, #41 is playing at one of last year's beginning top 25 schools, James Madison. Savannah was the first freshman in JMU history to post a double-double in their season opener. James Madison University Athletics - Savannah Felgemacher - 2015-16 Women's Basketball

Anybody who hoped Arella Guirantes was on Tennessee's list can mark her off she will choose between LSU, Texas Tech., and Rutgers. She is a 2016 rated number44 on Prospects Nation to 100 eligible to play next season. She scored over 2000 points in her career and averaged 33 as a senior.

So you know you're my 2nd favorite poster now and you're only 2 post old!! Lmao

I like her vids, bu then again videos "are" highlights!...The thing I wondered about, as a coach, is why she was she still unsigned? . . Is she that good, or, is she milking this for all its worth?.. I'd had to seen the kid in person to truly consider her.

She attended same school as Rellah Boothe #2 (Hoop Girls) 2017!!!! Would this hurt our chances with Rellah in 2017 or not ? Did we even offer her? I guess we will never know?:)

Boothe is more than likely going to Maryland.

2017 is exactly what we need to be looking at now. We lose Carter and Reynolds. This is where we want to pick up a point guard and a power forward.

We need a setup guard, who looks down court to get our fast-break back to par and also looks to pass first and dribble with purpose, drive second and shoot last. We need one that comes in with good assist to turnover ratio : Minimum of 2:1... We need a power four. An intimidator. A pure power player. One with the build of Graves and the heart of Jones and the no-fear of Jared (Though better controlled).

Mix this with the talent we have and any other pickup is cake.

The Elizabethton girl goes to Duke, they'll take a chance on her when we couldn't. We have so many recruits. I guess she wasn't All American enough for us to ruin.

Number 41 in the top 100 players Madison Treece 6'4" has decommitted from Kentucky. The Kentucky program is taking on water and looks ready to sink.

Looking at her tapes, I don't think we will be hurt with her signing with Duke. While she is 6'3-6'4, she is very timid and weak. At least the recruit we got is aggressive on defense and blocks shots. We did not block many shots with our fouling in the last 2-3 years, especially shots taken by the 4 & 5 positions.

it ain't about height, its about heart!

We've got the horses. Right now the think they're yolked to a plow... All they need is someone to tell them they're race-horses.

Very few of our present players have enough heart or basketball skills to be a factor. Holly is not going to turn anyone loose that might help the team. Need huge improvement if these players are going to finish in the top three in the SEC much less win anything in the NCAA Tourney. They will need to learn how to be winners in the Holly style which is very difficult indeed.

I have seen these kids play. In wins and losses. If they had no heart, they would just sit down on the bench and talk and do each other's hair. . . Nope, I've personally seen tears, anger and exasperation from most every girl.

The lack of heart you think you see is the lack of ability to understand why they're having such dismal performances, given each of their potentials and histories.

I personally saw DD in AAU games, put that group on her shoulders for more than a quarter and show a will to win that rivaled Maya's. These players are intent on getting finals done and working on their games in the summer.

Sorry to disagree VF2012, but if you could see them as I have seen them, you'd know it isn't a question of heart, it's a question of uncertainty and perplexity.

They were rated five stars for a reason seems like when they get to Tennessee and regressed and I have a theory as to why that is. The lack of heart we see on the court seems to be the style they are forced to play. I will say when Holly fired Elzy she should have fired the other two along with herself and then we might be getting somewhere in changing this team and the ability to win and play effective basketball.

Time, unfortunately, is our only story teller in this act.

What I can say is the next few moves made for this organization will dictate the future of this staff. I don't doubt HW, Dean, Jollette and the new-hire's passion or heart... The only things I truly question are if they have kept up with training methods for skills and drills.

I know for a fact that within 5-6 years, most of your older drills can be outdated. Like, the traditional pre-game layup line... YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!.. In a tournament with the 16u girls in Greensboro we had a forfeit, so we had the court to do with what we pleased. . . I ran a practice and we did 11-man, 7-direction layups, 100-shots and scrimaged (with some pickup players,,, because I only had 8 with me)... We had scouts leaving ongoing games to watch our practice. The girls were absolutely in heaven, seeing the college scouts one the sidelines.

I will never know the impact of this happening, but i do know that four of the 8 are on BB scholarships right now.
