Lady Vols Recruiting Info

once we were ahead of uconn , then we slipped to even with uconn and we are not only behind the dreaded huskies we are not even with the tier below them i.e. baylor, nd, maryland, stanford.. with the losses from this year's roster and no new recruits for 16-17 i am amazed that some here find no problem with the current staff. its not like women's basketball is an intramural sport, but i guess as long as 10000 or more show up for games no changes will occur

But we did press. What are you saving it for? All teams are banged up. Enough with the Holly apologists.

I don't know of any other teams with their starting PG out with a concussion. Nor one starter with a broken finger. Nor a back up PG whom also had a broken finger.

I agree somewhat, but as I understand it, Pat, prior to her health issues was considering a new offense. I do know that Stanford made changes to their offense which was similar to Pat's offense. I believe they switched to a version of the Princeston Offense. With better defenses in the women's game it is difficult to be one dementional on offense or defense. Now days for your inside game to be good you need an outside and mid range game that is consistent. I believe that Pat would have found a way to change her offense to meet the demands of today's game. I do agree that Pat's leadership was far superior than what Holly seems to possess. She may be smart in in someways, however, her intelligence does not seem to translate into the role of head coach.

I think that Stanford ran a version of the triangle offense for many years, but Tara has moved away from that for the past year or two. There are also a fair number of stories (on the West Coast) about her talking about offense with the coaches of the SF Warriors. She is, I think, a perfect example of a coach who changes when change is needed and gets the most out of the players she has.

Holly had in home visits with Evina Westbrook yesterday, as well as Anastasia Hayes a couple days ago.

Is there any news regarding the 2016 class. It's great we are in good with some top recruits in the 2017 class, but we need immediate help next season.

I bet Virginia Tech new head coach Kenny Brooks from JM will do very well in 2017 recruiting. Holly hmm ?

I hope Middleton and the Oregon connection can help with the recruting?

With both Oregon State and Washington in the Final Four this year, don't you think it will be harder to get those young ladies from Oregon to come East? They can play for successful teams at home where friends and families can watch them.

Has Schubert committed anywhere yet?

I count 9 2916 post players that have not been signed or made a verbal. That includes Schubert. I noticed that Genno has one 3 star post. I bet he coaches her up to whatever potential she has. The 6'9" post out of Pennsylavania gave a verbal to Virginia. I pray Holly is strongly pursuing some of these young ladies. The big question will be, what do we do with them if we sign them? They will need to be coached up and from what I see Dean does not appear to be the coach to get it done. Just saying, Graves played some very good ball but never became the All American we though she would be after her Freshman year. Russell has at time appeared to be a top 10 post but can she be trained to do it consistently? It not about just
recruiting it about getting the best from those you recruit.

I checked map quest about where Evina Westbrook lives (Salem)! Neither one of our players lives within an hours drive to her! So.......They all live in the same state (MEH)

Kaydra Duckett and Jatarie White are transferring from South Carolina. White was a McDonald's All American in 2014. I would like to see Jatarie White come to Tennessee

What Jatarie left???? Weren't we in her top 3? She was pretty good in high school and went toe to toe with Wilson in one tournament. I figured it'll be tough playing behind Wilson at USC. I hope she considers us!

I doubt she will be able to transfer within the conference
