Lady Vols Recruiting Info

looks like my reverse psychology score prediction pulled the football Vols thru once again, eh? good job Gule... :)

My goodness! Will we even get a verbal this class?

I don't follow this closely but I would think going 0 for an entire class would be absolutely unprecedented for a top ranked, women's basketball team which is actively looking to add players. It would certainly make me worry quite a bit about what is going on and why.

We are still going after Jensen Caretti too, I believe. I'm not sure if we've convinced her to visit though. She did visit Ohio State recently.

It's very unlikely Caretti will visit Tennessee. Lewis to OSU may change that because she was looking hard at them. There hasn't been a lot of chatter between Tennessee and Caretti, so don't get hopes up.

Cierra Johnson committed to Louisville tonight, which means they have no room for Cox unless someone leaves, which isn't beyond the realm of possibilities for Walz.

Louisville has been out of contention for Cox for a long time, along with UConn. It's a two man race right now, from what I've been told.

I don't think cox will commit to Notre dame or Baylor because they are both loaded at her position, it's between TENN & uconn because Stewart will be gone.

No, its not between TN & UConn.

TN offers the most playing time, and she knows that. She is still ND to lose.

I highly doubt that CHW will not sign anybody this class,I'm hoping that she is in for some late signer's

I've been saying this for months, we won't know our full class until April. We may not get a single player in November, but that doesn't mean we won't get a great class in when all is said and done.

You are absolutely right it is between us and Notre Dame, UConn is stacked at the 4/5 spot for a few seasons;

At the 5 you have Butler (Who transferred from Georgetown and will be the starting 5 for atleast 3 seasons) and you have Boykin (who will back her up/replace her as a starter who is a top 25 recruit), then you have Irwin who gave a verbal in the 2016 class already) then you look at the 4 spot with Tuck, Stewart, and Katie Lou Samuelson) even though she is the top pick it's no guarantee she even starts.

Geno will more than likely use a lineup of PG-Dangerfield, SG-Nurse, SF-Samuelson, PF-Tuck, Center-Butler/Boykins he has a habit of being very hard on his freshman as well

ND gives her the option to start (outside of playing with us) as Reimer is not the best option at the 5 she is better suited at the 4 and she would give them a strong front court next to Turner.

I think if she wants to win it all and have a chance at multiple titles she should come to Knoxville. I know it is very slim but if Holly could convince both McCoy and Cox to come to Knoxville how great would it be and its no way we don't make the final 4. Imagine them sharing time at the 4 and 5 (to spell Russell). My question is lets say Cox chooses us in November does McCoy then decide to play elsewhere? or would she still come if Cox chooses us?

First, I have no idea who leads for Cox. But some of your comments about UConn aren't exactly accurate.

At the 5 you have Butler (Who transferred from Georgetown and will be the starting 5 for atleast 3 seasons)

Butler could start for at MOST (not least) 3 years and it is no certainty that she will even start at all. Remember, she was an unranked high school recruit while Russell was a NPOY and both have 3 years of eligibility so if there is to be more opportunity at the 5 I'd say it's at UConn rather than Tenn.

Boykin (who will back her up/replace her as a starter who is a top 25 recruit)

Boykin is a 3/4 and in no way a 5.

then you have Irwin who gave a verbal in the 2016 class already)

Irwin is an unranked 3/4. Cox is a NPOY candidate and a 4/5. I doubt Irwin could scare Cox off. (More likely that Cox signing with Tenn might scare off McCoy)

look at the 4 spot with Tuck, Stewart, and Katie Lou Samuelson gave a verbal in the 2016 class already

Tuck has at most one year left, Stewart will graduate and Samuelson is a 2/3.

even though she is the top pick it's no guarantee she even starts

That is correct. No guarantees at UConn. And frankly, UConn wouldn't want a player who asked for and expected guarantees.
