:hi: Can you think of a dynasty that covers 27 years that can match the Lady Vols for consistent excellence?

The Celtics and Lakers have pretty good runs of sustained success on their resumes.

Edmonton Oilers won 5 cups in 7 years...Montreal Canadiens won 5 straight cups.

Bud Wilkinson's Oklahoma football teams...I think had something like 14 straight conference titles, and win streaks of 31 and 47 games. Also a few national championships thrown in there too.

The Chicago Bulls
Celtics
Lakers
Steelers
Dallas Cowboys

I guess the simple answer would be plenty of examples... lets not blow this up to be more than what it is...

Here are a few that give the Lady Vols a run for there money in longevity:

US 4x100 Olympic relay team--DQd in 1912, 1960, 1988, boycotted in 1980. Won the Gold Medal in every other year during that span.

UNC Women's Soccer--15 national championships between 1979 and 1999.

Iowa wrestling--15 NCAA team championships, 45 individual titles, from 1978-1997.

My little league team won back to back titles isn't that just as good?

How's this--

7 Class A State Championships, 1 runner up, 2 final fours, 3 elite eights since 1990. Add to that mix a state title against all classes.

I know it is highschool, but it is my highschool:)

EDIT: It is also highschool basketball in Kentucky, so that ought to be worth a few legigimacy points, right?

Seen this on CBS news

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) -- The Lady Spartans just don't know how to lose. They've now won 93 straight softball games, surpassing one of the longest winning streaks in college athletics.

The women of Northampton Community College took a three-game sweep of Montgomery College of Maryland over the weekend. The Northampton squad now eclipses the 92-game winning streak of North Carolina's women's soccer team from 1989-93. They've also surpassed the 88-game winning streak posted by the legendary John Wooden-coached UCLA men's basketball team in the early 70s. The last time the Lady Spartans of Pennsylvania lost was in April of 2004.
