The girl can drill the 3 ball.....Since she's white, she won't be as fast as the black girls....But many teams have slow white girls that bomb the heck out of the 3 ball....

We do need her..........
Those players have been few and far between in Lady vol uniforms in recent years!

It's a new day PG1 Time for some 3 point shooters on Rocky Top.

And by the way dtnvol, it's not racist, or anything negative, to point out blacks generally have quicker twitch muscles than whites...White girls are often the designated 3 point shooter on a lot of women's teams....Just the way it is.

The basketball doesn't care what color you are, if you can get the ball through the hoop, that's all that counts....

I agree your statement is not racist but it is a biologically inaccurate, common-sense belief that many sports fans share. The influx of very quick explosive white players from Europe into the NBA is one anecdotal counterpoint. An article in Slate from several years back explains the complexity of genetic tendencies and race quite nicely:

Note the distinction: West Africans dominate sprinting. East Africans do better at distance running. So already, the evidence points beyond race toward a more precise category: population. And with ACTN3, we’re beginning to advance from population comparisons toward the salient level of analysis: genes. Remember, as we noted about ACTN3 in general, differences at the elite level probably exceed differences among the rest of us. But they’re still real.....
On the other hand, those of us who accept such differences must understand them accurately and describe them responsibly. As Fray poster Njuzu puts it, “Race is a very inexact and unreliable proxy for genetics.” Race is not a causal unit. There’s no such thing as having fast-twitch muscle fiber because you’re black. The causal unit is a gene, or a network of genes, or a network of genes and environmental factors. Being black only makes you more likely to have a genetic variant that makes you more likely to have extra fast-twitch fiber. That’s a lot of “likelies,” not certainties. And you can eliminate part of the uncertainty by testing for ACTN3, which takes you past the crudeness of race to the relative precision of genetics. I’m not exactly thrilled about a world in which kids’ futures are projected from being RR or XX. But it’s a hell of a lot better than a world in which they’re projected from being black or white.

Race, genes and sports

As a side note, KJH had a player at Mo State that was a fairly good outside shooter,
Elle Ruffridge, who is only 5 ft 3

Elle is one tough little cookie. I think she holds the Iowa state record for h.s. girls made 3-pointers. Unfortunately, her size limited her effectiveness agaibst Stanford and she didn't get a shot off in 10 minutes. She was just a freshmam and will get better.

Alexa Willard was another good 3-point shooter, but she only went 1-11 against Stanford. They really needed another great game from her (she had games of 30 and 17) to have gotten the upset.

It does show that Kellie values the 3-ball.

Hopefully, Sweet Lou Brown will have a great comeback year for the LV and open up things.

Who was that Dodgers executive that was fired many years ago because he said blacks have different muscles from whites? Don't remember his name, but it is still perceived as racist even if factual.

watching the video I wanted to yell "cover/defend the shooter" She definitely sets her feet /body , almost all of her 3-pt shots were made following an assist pass, not many shots that she created off the dribble or step-back. Hopefully, she can play defense enough to get on the floor.
