I'm surprised Catchings hasn't been mentioned.
I would be absolutely thrilled to get either Kara or Catch on staff. SO much knowledge and skill from those two at their respective positions and no one has more love and respect for the Tennessee and Lady Vol brand than those two.

Don't be surprised Catchings hasn't been mentioned, as she has stated publicly on numerous occasions that she has no interest whatsoever in coaching. Her new position in the front office of the Pacers/Fever organization suits her perfectly.

To some who say this is a blessing losing Law, the National Champs just signed her to be on their coaching staff .... so she must have something.

I said it was and still think it is. We had the worst guards in the league FOR YEARS. Tennessee needs a fresh offensive mind on the bench.

Our guard situation has been snake-bit for many years, often due to injuries, but not entirely. I'd like to see sharper passing, much quicker ball movement, and much better three-point shooting. If Holly could bring someone in who could improve these skills for the guards, Tennessee will be a terrific team again.

You must haven't watched the first matchup. The reason we lost was because of Coates. She was a big liability because she couldn't guard Williams. And offensively she took up too much space in the lane. With the floor spread wide open UCONN wouldn't have had an answer for Wilson and Gray would have shut Williams down because she doesn't have a 3 point shot and can out quick Posts not a versatile guard like Gray. Mark it down the way Kaela Davis was scoring as Harris was distributing the ball SC could have beaten UCONN without a doubt. And let's not act like Wilson isn't a big presence in the lane she was averaging 4.5 blocks in the tourney so she could hold down the lane just fine.

Yeah, Kaela Davis played like garbage in the first UConn game and most of the season had poor effort, and when Coates went down she KD became a new player. It was a much better team in the post season.

I totally agree! I'm hoping we select the best person for the job...not a pick based on who ya know but rather what ya know.

Why should we be thanking Shaefer?? We beat Miss St 3 times and UCONN was certainly not invincible. Everyone's acting like they blew us out the first outing when they only won by 11. With the way our team was playing in the tourney we could have beaten anyone and we would have matched up much better with UCONN with Gray at the 4.

Respectfully, I am a Tennessee fan. Why do you feel the need to defend a national title? To anyone? A national title is a national title - no matter who you beat or how you got there. Period. Anybody that says different is jealous or dumber than a bag of hair, or both. To defend it on another team's board seems insecure. JMO

Congrats on the natty, but the whole rest of the world knows that you "only won by" 12 vs. State. And State spent all their emotions beating UConn.

And in the tourney, you pounded a couple of unranked teams. But you almost lost to ASU on your home floor (3pt), and only beat FSU and Stanford by 7 & 9. And those were end of game free throw margins. Close games.

Anyway, might want to dial back a notch on the TN board. My guess is almost no one not wearing a chicken thinks you would've beaten UConn.

Except when he "defended" it, he bragged on himself with "fake facts". I bet Dawn Staley would thank State herself.

Holly didn't release her seems she was not admitted to school by the University administration for some reason.

So could Holly have released her before they did not admit her? Or same difference? Just asking, not saying it should be done if it could be done.

Something went wrong somewhere. Let her take her punishment, may be in the form of a NC ring, and let her be happy and successful wherever she goes....until she plays us:).

So a South Carolina fan does some rubbing it in, and the response is sour grapes. Only won by 12, homey refs, uconn would have beat them. The fact is, they won. They are National Champs.

LV fans certainly dished out lots of braggadocio in the past even though TN championships were won by single digits or in OT. Should those wins not count?

I say South Carolina has the right to be smug and if LV fans don't like it, win a few games next year. That will shut up the opposition fans.

Not what 1CV said. Reading comprehension not your strong point, understood.

Read the complete thread and quit acting like a jerk.

As to opposing fans shutting up, may I suggest you purchase a mirror and return to the Dogpound?

I know, I was rude. Mea culpa, mea culpa, and a so what.

And yes, as much as I despise gino and his ilk and love SC, I think the dogs would have won. They got caught in the proverbial overlooking the competition and paid for it. Unfortunately I also think that won't happen to another geno team for years. And another so what....SC is the National Champion. GO COCKS!

And y'all lost to Bama ..... TWICE! LMAO we only won by 12 but beat them 3 times. FSU and Standford weren't close, We took our foot off the gas agaisnt FSU and Stanford gave up at the 3rd quarter. Instead of focusing on what we did you should focus on your Vols and their early exits in tourney. Then come and talk to me :)
