Lady Vol thoughts today

Some random thoughts after yesterday’s debacle:

Potential is nothing until it’s realized. Hollingshead and Wells and Spear need to play the way they are capable to recharge this team.

When four starters shoot 6 for 28 and all play over 20 minutes the hole is dug.

When the same mistakes continue there should be recourse. Counted at least nine times that small point guard challenged the miidle with a wing open on the side not even looked at.

This was the epitome of a “let’em play game”. Many things uncalled on both sides frustrated the players. Thought that Spear and Hollingshead were particularly affected.

Edie Darby and Kaiya Wynn both looked comfortable on the court and probably earned more minutes. Tamari Key continued to show improvement in movement. Although once again she was pushed and hacked with no calls made.

Puckett and Striplin were solid despite Puckett having a below par first half. Striplin might be an answer for Darby on a wing if Darby’s shooting woes continue.

Very subpar performance for a team searching for an identity and a leader(alpha) to show them the way forward. Get and keep aggression on defense and offense.

Watched a game earlier this year where Kelly was yelling for one of her players. Over and over, maybe three times, but her player never responded. Kelly was just "oh well, I guess she doesn't wanna talk rn". And i thought,
now what in the hell would Pat do if one of her players "didn't hear her" yelling instructions. Surely an unfair comparison. But I'm beginning to have doubts about the leadership.

Absolutely. I couldn’t agree more. Harper is absolutely the worst coach in D-1. Her offense is dribbling the ball out past 3 point line until the shot clock is under 10 and then throwing up a hope and a prayer. Her defense is non existent. Her players do not respect her. She also cannot recruit. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. It’s really sad watching this proud lady Vol team.

Sad, but nailed it. Hopefully there will be a change after this season.

Good Points............and again they appear to be another recent LV Team that is slow, non-athletic and walking through the motions.
I never left many CPS games where I didnt think they players left it on the court and worked!!! I dont understand why so many LV fanz cant understand that Coach Harper is NOT going to get even close to where this program is recognizable again!

The LVs will greatly benefit from Rickea healing up and back to full strength. I still see the LVs having a special season. GBO.

Terrible points.
Crawl back under that rock.. Tennessee just beat a Top 25 team without a Top 5 player in WCBB due to injury.
No other Top 25 team has or will likely achieve that this early in the season.
It’s ignorance to spread false claims
and pretend you are making a point.
Tennessee has 5 or 6 players averaging double figures..
3rd highest scoring team in the SEC with arguably the toughest schedule in the country.

Exactly. They only made the SS without her. That's the best we could do without Rickea.
