Josh Remetich, Holy Cross, Offensive Guard
After getting a scholarship offer from Tennessee on Thursday, a Class of 2020 offensive lineman from Louisiana now is planning to visit the Vols soon. Three-star junior offensive lineman Josh Remetich of Holy Cross School in New Orleans picked up an offer from Tennessee on Thursday when running backs coach David Johnson stopped at his school, and he expects to visit the Vols on May 31 to attend their first camp of the year.
The 6-foot-3.5, 280-pound Remetich, who now holds offers from at least 30 schools, said the offer from Tennessee wasn't exactly out of the blue. He said Johnson recently had stayed in contact with him.
"We have been talking for a while, and he told me he believes I can play at that level," Remetich said. Tennessee now is among a handful of SEC schools pursuing him, along with Ole Miss, Kentucky and Missouri. He also has received offers from Virginia, West Virginia, Louisville, Maryland, Boston College, Kansas, Rutgers and Wake Forest, among others.
“I went up to Ole Miss with my family and we had a great time,” Remetich told 247Sports' Dave Lomonico last week. “I like Ole Miss, and my parents like it, too. We all connected with the coaches and think it could be a good fit.”
Even before Tennessee extended an offer to him Thursday during Johnson's visit, Remetich was planning to visit the Vols later this month. He said he's looking forward to seeing what Tennessee has to offer. "I’m going up there for the camp on the 31st," he said. "I’m interested to see the campus and everything up there."
