L.A. Noire

This game has gotten repetitive to me.. only about half way through.. seems like all the cases turn out the same way.. but I'll probably attempt to come close to beating it tonight.. 6+ hour session when I get off work and get home.. I'm feeling it.

You still working with jared?

I only recall two maybe three cases where you have to choose a guy. Other than that you can blow every question and get the right guy. This is where they missed in this game. There is no real reward for getting it right. They just wanted to show off a new trick but put no penalty behind being bad at it. The story is pretty solid and that is what saves it. Other than that, a renter with no replay value. I think I read somewhere that the story was stolen from a film festival....I will see if I can dig up that article.

NM...it got awards at the Tribeca festival. That is what I get for searching on my iphone

yeah, there's only a couple cases where you get to pick who to charge with a crime. i got it right in the first one and screwed up on the other one and got yelled at.

this was a real good game IMO, but still think the interrogation system needs some work if they're going to attempt anything like this again in the future. several times on the interrogations i found myself having what i thought was legitimate evidence to back up an accusation only to have it backfire when i tried to use it against the suspect.

there were also times where i thought that i didn't have enough eveidence to use the "lie" option, only to find out that i did have the right clues to accuse the suspect. it just seemed like the evidence you wrote down in your notebook alot of the time was left too vague to use in an accusation. it would have also been cool if they let you branch out in the conversations more.

still a real fun playthrough, though. the story was fantastic. probably one of the best plots i've seen for a game in awhile.

Got to play 3 cases last night. The game is sick. Ill probably buy it in a week or two when I get some more time to play it.

Finally found the time to finish the game. Pretty solid. Ending was kind of vague. Without spoiling it for the people who have played it I'll write my thoughts in white:

I wonder if he really died at the end. I wonder if he's still alive and they never found the body. LA Noire 2 is already in the works and to just end like that with an open ending leads me to believe it will be a plot twist in the next game.

Those are my thoughts. Anyone else have an opinion?

****SPOILERS****

It's possible Phelps is alive, but it wouldn't surprise me if they permanently wrote him out like that either. It's noir, so not everything has to to wrap up nicely.
