Religion should be the last of our worries. As long as he doesnt cut the heads off animals and dance naked in the woods who cares.? Thats sure to offend someone on here.

I can't quote everyone, and I personally don't care if he is an atheist. I actually hope he keeps his religion out of football.

Would Tennesseans be cool with a coach that is Mormon?

Sure,he isn't going to be my Pastor. Plus, we just had a coach that more than likely didn't even believe in God. That's just what I believe, and if I'm wrong....oops.

This guy is a winner, he will do 10x more for UT then Cutcliffe will. Whittingham is not my first choice, but he is solid and I think he can take us places.

The thing that has frustrated me most out of this coaching search is our inability to lure a coach from a mid-major school.

There should be NO REASON a good coach from Boise State, TCU, Utah, etc. would NOT want to come to UT. We have the facilities, the program, and the CASH.

Surely, for all that is good and holy, we can't offer one of these guys a deal they can't turn down...

The moderator of Inside Tennessee.com says “This is coming from a big money guy, for what it’s worth, not sure what to believe anymore, it won’t be Cutcliffe. It will be either Randy Edsall (UCONN), Derrick Dooley (LA TECH), Kyle Whittingham (UTAH ) or Kevin Sumerlin (HOUSTON)”.

Could be good for us

Hey guys, big Utes fan here.

It's flattering to hear fans of another program speak highly of your head coach, especially from a program like Tennessee.

Whittingham is a defensive-minded head coach. He was our defensive coordinator from 1994-2004, and has helped send a ton of players to the NFL, including guys like Eric Weddle, Paul Kruger, Sean Smith, Luther Elliss, and Sione Pouha. If the sources are true and he decides to go to Knoxville, he'll (most likely) keep the offensive coaches.

Also, the University of Utah is in Salt Lake City. Our hated rivals are in Provo. :)

Needless to say, I hope you guys hire David Cutcliffe. I think he's a great coach and a better fit. ;)
