I'm under the impression that he'll be starting by October. He's too good. We may have ourselves another Barnett type at DE, when talking about instant impact.

I think this will be the best defense since '98, not quite as good, but really good.

Question for some of you well versed fellow Vol fans? One of the ESPN stories on the front page was stating that it made sense to red shirt one of the three of Kahlil, Tuttle or Phillips? I really do not see this happening, what do you guys think?

IMO, we need Tuttle and McKenzie in the DT rotation for sure but ideally it would be good to RS one of those.

Still need the depth at DE as well and I think it's easier for a freshman to contribute there.

In a perfect world it would be nice to RS one or two of those guys but not many teams can afford to sit guys like these.

IMO we are not deep enough to RS. Give us another season of recruiting and we can probably afford to. If KM and ST or KP are #1 or 2 in the rotation, they play significant minutes.

Maybe next year if we get both Derrick Brown and Alexis Johnson, we can redshirt Derrick. But this year, we'll be heavily reliant on Shy and Kahlil.
