A lot of adjustments for players...Fan expectations were like perform magic...Coaches have to adjust also....

You can't baby these players, but you can have realistic goals....It will not work until

The Coach and Staff get a majority of their players on the roster and coach them like a fire hose....

Pruitt probably got the attention of about a 35% of the ones left behind by Jones....Had his first class which was good for 35% and the others 30% pulled the others into a hole...

Hopefully that 30% will be gone by the end of the year and will not have any influence on the signing class coming in for 2019.

s I and most others have said one way or the other.....
You can drive a horse to water, but you can't make him drink..

I say if this is the case, you replace him. Bite the bullet, let them go and replace them as fast as you can. Don't let any of them drag down anyone else!!!!

Wonder what sort of wizardy Mullen used to turn a 4 win team into a 9 and likely 10 win team? I'll bet he found Old Robert Johnson's crossroads right before he left Mississippi and worked a deal.

These players should have been embarrassed about 2017 and willing to buy into anything different. That is if you have any expectations of achievement for your college career. Many of today’s college athletes accomplish their goal simply getting recruited. That would appear to be the case for many of Tennessee’s players.

Some kids just don’t buy in when a coaching change occurs. It happens. It’s probably more of an indictment of Butch Jones and the kind of program he ran. If Pruitt would have gone scorched earth as soon as he got here we probably would have won 2-3 games. So he assessed the situation and tried to make it work with what he had.

It's called D1 talent in the cupboard.
Ahhh right

so they had talent and not coaching and won 4 games in the same division that we supposedly had no talent AND no coaching and won 4 games. Ok.

Tell yourself what ever you need to but talent or lack thereof isnt the only reason we won just 1 more game this year than last.

Nope
Do it again. You clearly missed a whole lot in the first evaluation

What are your metrics? Recruiting rankings? On field production?

If it's on field production that's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy if you use their production from this season. We were bad therefore the players are bad. They were good therefore the players are good.

If you go back and look at their and our production from last year things are a lot closer - which is his point. One coach took that similar level of production and improved upon it. The other coach, not so much.

If you can't see the difference between tn an fl on the ol and dl then maybe you should take another look.

If you watch any other team in the SEC there O and D lines are physical, they have a little attitude. We didn't have any of that. This group of guys that were primarily Lyle's recruits didn't have the fire. They look like a bunch of sloths out there. Most of all 4 and 5 star recruits. Sometimes you have to take a risk in recruiting every once in a while. This team needs a thug or two just for assholism. End of rant!!

I didn't miss anything.

I just see what hiring a proven coach vs hiring a rookie can make happen. All this whining from the water carriers about no one could turn around a 4 win team into the kind of team that could beat Vandy is just foolishness. Dan Mullen at Florida proves it. As matter of fact he proves it at a level that only those who refuse to see the shortcomings of this staff can't see.

Dan Mullen took a 4 win team in the SEC East and won at least 9 games with them the very next year. Not only can it be done, Dan Mullen just did it.

Fulmer and company took the cheap* route and crossed their fingers. A couple of beat downs at the end of the season by powerhouses Missouri and Vanderbilt clues one in on how well the crap worked out.

* I put the asterisk in because I don't think money was the only motivation Fulmer had for hiring a guy like CJP. ADPF didn't want a guy that would tell him to get the hell off the field and back to his AD office, so he didn't hire one. At least that's my opinion.

So when we end up with 4 or 5 wins next year are we still blaming CJP? Does it take 24 months to change the Strength and Condition program in Knoxville? Because if it does I can put the Athletic Department in touch with a couple of folks who can get results much faster.

In my opinion it's gonna take at least 2-3 recruiting cycles to weed out all the vaginas on this team. We need players like Banks in every position.

Bullcrap. These kids are getting “paid” to play football in exchange for a college education. You give 100% effort for the pay.

I worked for 37 years and had a lot of bosses over the years. I worked my ass off no matter who he or she was. And always tried to get better.

I might not have wanted to “buy in” but I did.

Snowflakes.

The O line is garbage. The D line isn’t much better but they give better effort. The defensive backfield are mostly kids and the others are average. There is no downfield threat at wr but with the O line it doesn’t matter. CJP needs to take a serious look at the roster and figure out who needs to be invited to look elsewhere. There needs to be an infusion of SEC level talent and some serious offseason weight training. We got manhandled by Missouri and Vandy in the trenches. Let that sink in a little bit before responding. The loss of the two best O linemen didn’t help but even with those two we are no match for any SEC defense. I still want to vomit thinking about the last two games but we have a staff that knows how to recruit and that is what it is going to take. I’m just glad I live in Texas and don’t have to bombarded with it all day everyday. May all you find peace in this holiday season and remember to love your families and friends, send a care package to the troops or just say something nice to someone who looks like they may need it.

FL did not have 10 years of piss poor management. Nor the drama. FL Fired and hired a good coach immediately. Note: Mullen Did not follow jones. Locked up Mullen as soon as possible.

completely opposite of us...Riots and drama. Of which we have had 2 protests in 10 years regarding coaches.

Apples to oranges
