Dan Mullen took a 4 win team in the SEC East and won at least 9 games with them the very next year. Not only can it be done, Dan Mullen just did it.

Fulmer and company took the cheap* route and crossed their fingers. A couple of beat downs at the end of the season by powerhouses Missouri and Vanderbilt clues one in on how well the crap worked out.

* I put the asterisk in because I don't think money was the only motivation Fulmer had for hiring a guy like CJP. ADPF didn't want a guy that would tell him to get the hell off the field and back to his AD office, so he didn't hire one. At least that's my opinion.

Florida has a higher standard than we do.
Not the fans, the universities. Mullen is a good coach but not great IMO. He would be at Tennessee a loooog time winning more than he loses but never beyond winning the east.
Again that’s good enough for the people in charge at our university. Not so much at Florida. They actually care about championships. Mullen will be at Florida 3.5 years

Exactly. He was given the opportunity and passed. I didn’t want him because I don’t think he’ll win championships. With our administration we have to get lucky to hire a championship coach. Is Pruitt that guy? Probably not

What I said was you can turn around a 4 win team in one year. DAN MULLEN just did it at Florida. In the SEC East which coincidently is the same division of the same conference that CJP coildnt/didnt turn around a 4 win team. Unless you count winning 5 games and getting blown out a few games a turn around.

So whine about how tough it is to turn around a 4 win team all you want. There is proof that not only cannot be done it has been done this season.
