KY and Auburn

Best possible result for us. Auburn sacks Freeze, loses its recruiting class and players to the portal, and UK gives Stoops another year for winning an SEC game.

I'd take Durkin over Banks for DC any day of the week.

Ah yes, the "Gouge My Eyes Out With a Dull Wooden Spoon Instead Bowl" certainly lived up to it with a 10-3 final score.
How would you feel as the poor alum who saved a few months to save enough up to snatch some tickets for him and the misses. His patience and hard work rewarded with that mess lol.

CFB is a cruel cruel muse.

I was about to say, the funniest part is it probably sealed the end for Freeze yet they will reward Stoops and Stoops still sucks.

Stoops won his first SEC game by winning in such epic fashion 10-3 and the other coach gets fired. Man,what a lack of seriously good coaches in the SEC outside of the obvious.

Probably won’t happen but would love for UT to move on from Banks and go after Durkin.

I hate saying that because Banks seems like a good dude, but defense, while having flashes of being good, has just been a consistent struggle under him.

You have to be kidding. Durkin has been passed around the SEC like Seattle slew. He is not a DC that is some massive upgrade over Banks. Dude is garbage.

Actually I’m not kidding. Auburn is 4th in conference on defense, we are 15th. He is only allowing almost half the points we are per game.

I’ve been told that one season doesn’t cover up a body of work. Especially those people wanting to fire Banks using one bad year as a reason for doing so.
Okay. You have your opinion. I think he would do better than Banks, I say that with all due respect to Banks, and it isnt as much of a stretch as you seem to think. JMO. ✌️

Now post his defenses at Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and
2013 at UF- 15th nationally
2014 at UF- 19th nationally
2015 at Michigan- 6th nationally
2020 at OM- that’s COVID mind you and he was co-DC- 118th nationally
2021- 51st nationally
2022 at TAMU- 25th nationally
2023 at TAMU- 36th nationally

You consider this resume as a DC garbage?

Once again, his time at Michigan and Florida are irrelevant.

You are missing the point completely if you are having to invoke his time as DC from 10+ seasons ago that have zero relevance with this current trend / job performance in the SEC.

Durkin is not some massive upgrade. And my point remains, he has a mid defense annually and never had a top 10 defense in his recent stint as a DC in the SEC at 3 schools in 5 years.

If you want to go all Toby Keith and "not as good as he once was" this debate, go for it. But if you are invoking his best defenses that were over 10 years ago as a reason he would be some great upgrade in the present day, that isn't the sign of a coherent debate.
